Nice quick overview. Thanks for posting. It should be noted that the MVI from Shure will not work in conjunction with the Motiv app when using an iPad Pro and a USB – C cable. The Shure Motiv app simply will not recognize the Shure MVI through a USB – C cable.launch

Hello. I just purchased this Shure MVi and tried to use it with my iphone 6 plus. The problem is, while connecting it through the lightning port of my iphone the display screen does not illuminate (not working) or it blink only for few seconds then gone. What would be the problem? It is working though on my laptop/pc. Thanks.launch

Hi Craig. I’m using the Shure MVi with a Blue Yeti Pro and an Ipadpro 2018 (new model, 12.9”) Unfortunately the gain is ridiculous. I can’t get it low enough to work. I’m not sure where the problem is... not enough phantom power perhaps? Or just incompatibility with the IOS and new USBC on the IPad.. Thus far its really hard to pin down the problem. Cheerslaunch

16 volts? That's funny, because your website and the manual both say it supplies 12v phantom power on iOS, not 16v. I would think that a Shure product specialist would know the specs of a Shure product.launch

Curious, were you using the Cloudlifter anywhere in the test recording of the MVI? If not, would it be possible? Not sure if the MVI, thru the iPhone connection (17V like you showed), would provide enough power for the Cloudlifter?launch

Recently purchased to use with my android device. I keep seeing on YouTube or elsewhere, even on product page that this is compatible with android, but I have yet to see any proof. I just unboxed this and it doesn't even come with a compatible cable for that. Nowhere on box or literature is android mentioned. Can you please explain how to use with android device? Thanks.launch

I think the reason they made it without a lock because if you get it caught up or trip over it you will send your phone/ipad flying. Seems to work great for me no complaints so far.launch

Those ergonomics are unacceptable from a device designed to work with an iPhone. Maybe it's designed to stay in your pocket? Is the included XLR cable long enough to support pocket > arms length? Sound is very good, but that's a lot of work to keep it plugged in and mounted. Also, any built in battery or does it get all power from USB? Or from the iPhone itself?launch

A user describes the device's lights and audio cutting in and out during iOS use, introducing loud pops and crackles whenever an app starts playing audio or a notification arrives, calling it a major issue after a day of use.

The weird thing I've noticed with mine is how the device shuts off and on (well, the lights do) when used with ios devices. This happening is followed by pops and crackles. For example you can open youtube and play a video. The interfsce will switch on (at least the lights will), introduce a distinct and quite loud pop and crackle, then play the audio as normal. Then close the youtube app and the the device lights shut off a second or two later, also introducing a \"pop\". \n\nI wonder if you have the same experience or if there's a defect with mine :) The audio issue gets annoying fast. No problem when the device lights stay on. But receive a message while device is connected to iOS, and pop plus crackle will follow suit then too. The way to keep the lights (or the device, if that is what happens) on is to keep using a particular audio app without doing Much else. \n\nYou see the same thing when you click play a Spotify track. Press “play”, cracks and pop comes in for 1-2 seconds, then another pop once you stop the song and the mvi goes into some hibernation mode or whatever it is (lights off). While I initially didn’t think of this as a severe issue , a day of use later it’s become a major problem.\n\nCheerioslaunch

Just picked this piece up kit up. It’s driving me mad - the settings do not save between recording and play back? Ie. Get a gain level I’m happy with, click record and it changes, get the gain level correct again, record then stop and play back and it changes again. Impossible to work like thislaunch
