I love my Rockerverb 100 MKiii. I’ve owned a ton of other high gain amps (omega obsidian, omega granophyre, Friedman BE 100DLX, Revv Generator 120 mkiii, etc…) and a lot of them do the tight/refined thing very well. This version of the Rockerverb has a certain character that is hard to dial into those other amps, but you can tighten up the RV with a boost if you want. Such a great amp.launch

I usually boost my Orange Crush Pro 120 with a Boss SD-1 in front and the results I’ve gotten with that combination is nothing short of crushing. It gives me the treble bite that I love from more American sounding amps, while also really tightening up the low end of the amp to allow for cranking the low end all the way up for a tone that I can only describe as the sonic equivalent of a sledgehammer.\n\nIdk how well the Boss SD-1 would pair with the Orange Rockerverb amps compared to the Crush Pro 120 or the Super Crush 100 but I highly recommend looking into pairing the Boss SD-1 with one of these Orange amps. You won’t regret it!launch

I have the RV 100 Mk III, and the clean channels is way cleaner than what's being presented in this playthrough. Granted, it looks like the volume is up to noon, where I've always kept mine around 9-10 o'clock and been plenty loud. Definitely my favorite amp! The dirty channel is amazing on its own, with an overdrive in front, and with the extra gain stage trick of turning off the reverb and using the knob as a gain knob. Killer tones!launch

I scored this amp for a great deal a couple of weeks back. Without a boost, it's pretty cool, but nothing crazy. What amazes me with it though is how well it takes any overdrive, and just gets tighter, clearer and meaner. It seems nothing can boost the signal enough for the tone to break apart. Its a great tool to get very different kinds of boosted tones out of, and just craft a cutting, mid-heavy tone with.launch

I love how the Rockerverb effortlessly nails a really great heavy sound. Just set everything to noon, grab a les paul, add a mxr boost, and you are set. That being said, I was able to get pretty close on a much smaller budget using a crappy Marshall g100rcd, a bad monkey and a linear boost. But took me like 2 years to get there, and it helped having the Orange as a reference. The main difference now is probably the cabinet, the 2x12 ppc is so damn smooth...launch

Honestly, the amp can do so much more than these aggy, sawing high-gain sounds you can find in almost any amp of any brand nowadays (Engl, Marshall, Revv, you name it...). The Orange Rockerverb MKIII is basically the best amp when you want to play grunge or punk with really awesome mids. Let alone the clean channel which offers one of the best distortion sounds ever when you crank it up to its sweet spot. To me the amp was a kind of an epiphany after having tried like a thousand and more amps - transistor or tube - in the past. I even dumped almost all of my pedals (overdrive, boost, distortion). The attenuator does the master-boost (and how!), the distortion is way enough for every sound you wanna have. My personal hero amp ;)launch

I looove the Rockerverb sound. It's VERY intense in the midrange, which is why I'm not currently using it in my two-guitar post-metal band... But I really want to. 😅 Modern or not, it's a helluvan amp, can sound calm and pretty, \"claw your face off\"-aggressive and most everything in between.\n\nI'm glad you included the reverb trick. \n\nI think the notched knobs are a minor annoyance, now that I own the amp. I don't really think about them, but I was very concerned prior to buying the amp.\n\nI like cabs when I'm playing by myself or with the band, but for shootout purposes and YouTube, I'd say you can do what suits your use case best. IRs are like a controlled environment all on their own, nothing changes, and you don't accidentally bump the mic. Besides, you're pretty adept at making cool sounding IRs, so perhaps that's the route for you to go? ❤launch

I may not own this amp physically but I ported the schematics for it in an amp sim recently.\nI always liked the sound of Orange amps but this one made my jaw drop. The flexibility this thing has is insane! The clean channel is very nice, but the drive channel covers every range - like a secondary clean channel to boatloads of high gain. This might actually be the dream amp I want when I get around to playing guitar at some point lollaunch

I don’t understand the blackstar comparison. The Marshall comparison I can kind of see, sorta. Like you mentioned, they have great low end but they also have this crazy warm mid range that’ll destroy everything in its path. Lol. Plus the character of the gain is a bit different. I also honestly think orange have underrated clean channels. I really miss the clean channel from my rockerverb mkii. Really just my rockerverb mkii in general. It was such a killer amp.launch

It seems even the nicer amps cut costs one way or another. Guess that's why they call it \"pot metal\". It's still a good amp overall though. I do like the Orange sound. Even though they are mostly associated with their gain channel sound, the clean channel is underrated and goes unnoticed to a large degree in my opinion. The Orange vertical open back 2x12\" cabinet sounds killer with that head and only weighs 44lbs with its neo cream backs.launch

I was gonna sell my Rockerverb for a Vintage Fender Twin and I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Tried cranking the spring Reverb and to my surprise this thing truly surfs \n 🏄‍♀️ in it’s own unique way and that clean channel is incredible. Orange is not just some high gain monster amp it’s so much more. DO NOT sleep on the low gain and clean tones out of this guy.launch

Yep - I noticed these years ago - haven't got to buy one yet. The Mark III is great because they made the clean even better and it has a built in attenuator. Also Orange cabs are incredible. Their amps plus cabs almost produce a 3d like sound - it's really something to behold in the room.\n\nWhat really blew me away was my old boss bought a Rockerverb on my recommendation and a little later got a 5150 stack and invited us all over to check it out. We had them setup side by side. The Rockerverb slew the 5150 hands down. I couldn't believe it. I knew the Rockerverb was good but I thought the 5150 would kill it in certain areas but nope - no matter what we did the Rockerverb was always better (in my opinion).launch

Yeah! This amp is a wet dream come true. I love my new mkiii 50 head. Beats my previously owned Matchless Spitfire, T-Rex BigTone, Vox AC30, Carvin Legacy, Peavey Classic 100, Framus Ruby Riot and Marshall JTM45 amps any time!! And now I have three pedals (Wampler Euphoria, Suhr Riot and JHS Morning Glory), that I not even use anymore. I have all the pedals I need in the Rockerverb and my volume knobs on my LP and Strat! A buddy of mine wants to sell one of his two Marshall halfstacks because of the Rockerverb 50 mkiii - it's a killer practice amp too - the attenuation knob is genius.launch

Here’s a cool extra gain trick for the kids. If you don’t have the foot switch for reverb, get one. When a switch is in that jack and reverb is off, you can crank the reverb volume and it adds a gain stage. Pretty good stuff.launch

Orange has a very confusing way of labeling their speaker outputs. its never ok to pug into a 8ohm spesker or cab.  the amp has 1-16 and 2-8ohn outputs,  the 16 ohm output is obviously for plugging into 16 ohm speaker. here's where it gets confusing, the 2 - 8 ohm outputs are only used to plug into 2-16 ohm speakers which = 8 ohm.  you are never supposed to use an 8 ohm speaker with this amp.  ORANGE AMPS ROCK!   just think of a hot rodded marshall tone on steroids.The clean channel is not pristine.  its thick with a little hair on it. which is what I like. the amp does not work well with all drive pedals. Fulltone OCD and a tube screamer sound awesome with these amps. the amp has a huge mids. If youlike scooped mids ,experiment with different speakers.    Is if you crank the mids, this amp will cut thru the band like a knife. you will be heard at lower volume level and sound great doing it,  OR there's a switch alowingthe amp to run on different types of tubes. they presently come with 2-el34 's. Always rebias when changing power tubeslaunch
