Thanks for the review. I have this in 1TB i7 (<1yr old) - what you say is true. However, the negatives are; 1) gets hot underneath, 2) speakers are underneath which muffles the sound (yes, as you say - needs a bluetooth speaker attached on most apps) 3) both feet cushions underneath are coming off the bottom ALREADY and continually attempting to stick back (which is not working) 4) Battery was lasting 22hrs now only 4hrs (and I'm 55yo so only use it for emails , photos and I even did some battery saving ideas (defrag/turning off tracking, notifications etc etc) Very costly computer ($2,500AUD), so very disappointed in comparison to some of my older computers purchased 😢launch

i have this laptop and it overheats a lot. the fan is super loud and long and the battery doesn't last that long. on the first day I got it, the brightness buttons weren't working so I had to find a solution online. does anyone else have these problems, ive only had it for 3 days too.launch

I just bought the 15\" version. It's is pretty awesome. The battery life is excellent. The processor is very quick. It does get dangerously hot without some configuration though. I accidentally let it get up to 100°C for a few seconds while installing Visual Studios. Mine has the Geforce GTX1050-Ti max, which is decent, but not awesome. I can play Skyrim on 4k Ultra settings and get ~40-50fps, but I think it would struggle with newer games. Overall a great buy once you handle the overheating problem!launch

I bought a spectre last year and the bezels got bent when i hardly used it and I never dropped it too. Also battery life changed in 6 months and it was draining pretty fast. I went and swapped with a late 2019 spectre and the fan noise and the heating scared the hell out of me. It was almost like it was frying the motherboard. I took it back and AXED HP for life.\n\nI was attracted to the looks of the machine but in terms of engineering, its horrible! I would not recommend anyone buying a spectre.launch

I bought this laptop last year. There is a design flaw with the screen that causes the top of the screen to be damaged when you close the lid. The bumpers on the body and around the screen don't prevent the glass from touching the metal of the wrist rest when the screen is closed. This causes scratches on the glass inside the the display area. The body around the touchpad also cut into the glass and caused damage to the glass. I have had my screen replaced by HP, however it doesn't look like they have a solution to prevent this from happening again.launch

I have this laptop and wouldn't recommend it. It's elegant, but the build quality is poor. The rubber pads on the underside of the laptop started peeling away after a couple of months. The LCD screen flickers, as do the backlit buttons.\n\nI couldn't use GPU acceleration for 6 months with Adobe products like Premiere Pro, because they chose to use a GPU which didn't have drivers that had been developed to work with Adobe products.\n\nI went for the highest spec HP Spectre 15\" and it's only about £200-300 less than the highest spec Windows Laptop, and you can guarantee that the resale value of the Windows will be considerably higher. Next time I'm buying the Windows surface.launch

People dont be fooled. \nBe very careful with buying Spectre x360 series of laptops, HP support equals to zero and this models of computers have huge issue of motherboards burning. Mine died this week and HP does not care at all while laptop was 1500 euros. There is literally tons of users reporting the same issue with motherboards being burned as laptop heats a lot and \nis not sufficiently extracting the heat which ends up burning the motherboard, and that is basically the most expensive part on the laptop. Bought mine in 2016, used it only for business travel which would be less than 1 year, doesnt want to turn on anymore. Tons of users reporting the same issue, power light blinking but laptop does not want to turn on. This is happening at least since 2013 but HP doesnt care as long as we pay them. No more HP for me, they are scammers.launch

I would love to know if you had any Problems with the build Quality. Because i have to say it appears their QC is abysmal. My spectre x360 makes terrible squeaking and cracking noises, f.e. if you place your Handpalms on the device. And that is in fact my 2. device, i had to RMA the first one for similar noises at a different spot. The trackpad Rattles worse than any 300USD China Laptop, Gaps dont allign. Now my 4k Display has a bright spot, somewhere in the middle. \nAnd moreover the palmrejection is horrible. nearly everytime i place my Hand on it to start writing the inital touch of my Hand triggers a zoom or scroll..\nAnd now a few months Ago my Brother got the Ryzen 5 Envy 13. Trackpad Rattles, no squeaking but still cracking noieses. The Touchpad can be activated by Pressing the Bottom cover. One of the 4 Speakers sounds like it has Aluminium Foil over it. \nand most of the devices in local Markets Show various Quality Problems. \n\nI love the device in ist function and form, but man the Quality is horrible. I mean i often don't even want to tell People i Paid 1.6k for this, when Opening the device while it sounds like a old wooden Floor squeaking. I have the HP Spectre x360 13 (2018 model) which I use as my daily driver .... I am really happy that HP finally removed the huge bezels (which I hate about my Laptop) ..... However, I just wish that HP somehow manages to bring the Front-firing speakers back (which I love0 in the 2021 model .... The Tablet mode & the Stylus Pen seem to be just a gimmick. I hardly ever used them maybe 10 times in the 2 years I had this Laptop ....launch

I have the 15.6 inch model. It's really fast. Big screen and video content on it is great. But it's really heavy. Speakers aren't the greatest. Very tin can like.The hinges could be sturdier because the screen wobbles a good amount but that's what you get with a 2in1. And the trackpad is terrible out of the box but that can be fixed with precision drivers. If those things don't bother you than it's a good buy.launch

Battery life reports vary hugely, with some getting far less than advertised out of the box, and others noticing severe degradation to just a few hours after months of ownership.

As someone who's owned and returned this exact machine, I'll warn some would be buyers about this machine. \n\nI understand my experiences arent necessarily reflective of everyone's, but it did happen to me, and consequently could for you.\n\n1) battery life - no where near 20 hours. Out of the box, I was getting about 7-8 hrs of surfing/office work. Maybe an extra hr after an undervolt. \n\n2) my dp out over usb stopped working on both USB ports. Couldn't detect a monitor over 640x480 resolution. I tried everything with the drivers, wiping, resetting, nothing. \n\n3) 8GB of ram is nowhere near enough. The BIOS allocates 4GB of it to the gpu. 4GB...before you load windows. You also cant adjust that. The absolute lowest ram utilization I saw, after a fresh boot and disabling several services... was 60%. Unacceptable. \n\nI really wanted to like this machine. It's a great design and size, but marred by HP \"quality\" and Intels forever crappy graphics drivers. The ram allocation is just baffling for an iGPU.launch

I had a terrible experience with the HP tilt pen. It does not work properly (keeps writing at 2mm of the screen), and HP (via chat) support wasn't helpful. They gave me stupid suggestions as reinstalling the drivers. Also, as they can talk to you only on work hours, of course during those hours I could not chat very much, I had to start every day from the beggining, hear the stupid suggestions then the support person would go away, and the next day to the beggining again. It's like the chat gets erased every hour or something like that, because I asked them to read above and I never got a answer about that, they kept asking me to describe the problem again and again the whole time.\nI ended giving up but I will never buy anything from HP again. They should have changed the stylus without all that stupid procedure.launch

Avoid buying HP Spectre. I bought a brand new 360 13\" arrived yesterday, had severe screen flikering, returned it today for my money back. When a brand new laptop has such poor quality, imagine what can happen to it two months from purchase. Just check reviews on screen issues, battery problems, and buy ANY MACHINE OTHER THAN HP! I usually don't write poor comments but I am trying to inform people. These videos don't talk about screen issues or battery problems, ready about them and avoid buying from HPlaunch

I had this laptop and returned it. None of the reviews mention how the backlight goes out after 10 or so seconds. There's no setting to leave it on all the time (like older Spectre or even Mac Books do. Also, I found the touch pad VERY difficult to use being left handed and trying to right click things. The older Spectre allowed you to change the size of the left/right button areas, but you can't adjust it with the included drivers. All in all, I felt like it was a worse computer than my older Spectre that I wanted to replace.launch

I bought this laptop and ended up returning it. I have another Spectre with the 6th generation i7, so I thought this would be a great upgrade. The biggest issues I had was with the touch pad sensitivity and the keyboard. In addition to the sensitivity, I couldn't figure out how to change the size of the left/right click areas on the touch pad (something I can do on my older Spectre). Additionally, the keyboard backlight automatically going off after 10(?) seconds of inactivity drive me nuts too. I opened a case with HP support for both issues. There was no fix, so I ended up returning the unit. The laptop was beautiful and the 4k screen was amazing, but I felt the keyboard and touch pad were a big step backwards.launch

I got one of these last week and am very happy. Some minor nitpicking would be that there should be a USB C on each side, instead of both on the right. Also the headphone jack should be on the right side (most people are right handed). \n\nI love all the features like glam cam, the light ring app, the ability to tune how much the fans run, the included sound equalizer, automatic color adjustments.launch

I bought this laptop a few months ago, it's an amazing laptop and has been a real blast to get work done on it as well as watching a bunch of high res Netflix, etc. content. Mine did not come with a HP usb C hub though, and I had to go buy one only because I needed a HDMI port on certain occasions. Otherwise, the built-in ports were enough to make things happen, plus the micro SD cart slot was nice to have since I use a SD card adapter anyways for my camera.launch

I love this laptop!!! Unlike previous models, it does not produce much heat at all. However, I had to return it back today because it's webcam is absolutely terrible. The level of noise is very high even when there is a lot of light. Also, they use a wide-angle webcam: any part of your body that is slightly closer to the webcam gets really big. The webcam is a disaster. I don't understand why HP can't produce decent (not even great) webcams...launch
