I got the 2023 X13 with a 4060 for $1020.15 open box from best buy about 6 months ago. Hands down best laptop out there for the size. This thing literally does it ALL on the go. Need a low power tablet to take notes at a conference all day? Yes. Want to plug it in and get 100fps in pretty much any game you would want to play? (with the right config) Yes. Want to carry it around campus or work or a flight all day and not worry about plugging it in? Yes. (People seem to forget that you can turn off that 4060 in Armory crate and get all day battery.) Sure you could argue that there are compromises in a couple of these areas but it hardly feels like a compromise any which way. Seriously underrated. I hope Asus does a refresh next year with the Strix 395 chip. Would be the one ring laptop to rule them all.launch

I want to correct your point on the buying preference part;\nThe difference between 4050, 4060, and 4070 laptop GPU performance (under the same TGP levels) are just barely noticeable.\nI think cbutters tech made an analysis about this if I'm not mistaken.\nHOWEVER, the performance difference between the 4070 laptop GPU under the highest TGP possible VS a 4080 laptop GPU under the lowest TGP are painfully big.\nSo even IF we're able to put a 4070 laptop GPU at the highest TGP, it's still going to be beaten by an XG Mobile's 4090 (Max TGP 150W). By an extremely long shot.\n\nI do want to acknowledge though.. that the 4070 Laptop GPU is currently the most hated laptop GPU chip in the world because of one thing, and one thing only; PRICE.\nA 4070 laptop vs a 4080 laptop (under the same brand) are often priced quite nearly nowadays, hence how overpriced it is. But I guess NVIDIA knew about this all along & made the 4070 laptop chip to lure everyone to spend a bit more for a much better performance of an at least 4080 laptop.\n\nThat's not to say the 4070 Laptop GPU is a bad performing card.\nWe've been getting laptops with a 175W RTX 3080 Ti Laptop performance, at avg 75W less.\nAnd let's not forget that a 60-65W 4070 Laptop performance in the 2023 X13 & Z13 Acronym, performs similarly (if not better) to the 150W 3080 XG Mobile.\nThat.. is impressive AF for consumers who are opted for very thin & light (and subdued) laptop/ultrabook/tablet design that were previously restricted by a 40W 3050 Ti Laptop performance at the very best.launch

I'd put it in Tent Mode, plug in a xbox style controller and game on it. 3050ti might sound anaemic for gaming but people make do with Steamdeck or Asus Ally. This is 2 tiers above that, while still being extremely portable. However for me it is up against the GPD WIN MAX 2 which is considerably smaller still but dosn't have that 3050ti chip. So while it will game fine it won't be the 1080p experience more like 800p, but then again the screen is a lot smaller so it dosn't need it! I won't be using dongles or XG Mobile. If i was i'd rather just get a bigger machine.launch

-just received this laptop (full hd, rtx3050, w/o the xg mobile) yesterday, thanks to ben for his convincing unboxing video. too bad i didnt get to see this video first before buying. but it doesnt make my comment say that i regret having this laptop. tbh im pretty loving it up to this point, and im still in my first 23 hours of usage, so not a lot to comment on for the time being. creative editing isnt the reason why i bought this, but more to a portable gaming experience as i couldnt play on my pc back at home when im on the go. hopefully rtx3050 is enough for my dota 2/football manager/cities skyline/fifa23 gaming and the battery lastslaunch

I have the 2021 model with 3050 ti and 32GB ram and I still use and it spits battery life of about 10hrs every time on battery for my office work and when at home, I plug and play some light games .... Still perfect for me and never feel the need to upgrade it(tweaked some registry for keeping the laptop cool and some software to prevent throttling)launch

I use the 2021 Flow X13, it is the best laptop i have ever used, it is portable enough to carry around everywhere, powerful enough to play the games i want to (Valorant and Fifa), has a great 120Hz touchscreen and decent battery life that can be extended to a 7-8 hours with a few minor tweaks.launch

I am a college student, 1st year, pursuing CS, I've been using my brother's Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming for the time being as he didn't needed that for a while but I'm thinking of buying a new one and Flow is like my top 3 choice, also, here in India, I'm getting the Flow X13 Ryzen 7 5800H with Integrated Ryzen graphics, 16 GB Ram and 1 TB SSD, and the ext gpu AMD Radeon rx 6850 12 Gigs for under about $1600 for comparison I'm getting the Predator Helios Neo 16, 16 Gbs and 1 TB SSD and a 4050 for around $1400, and this is just for comparison, I'm not even considering the Predator NEO because of portability, any opinions, expertslaunch

I have the 22 model (R9 + 3050ti) and cant recommend it enough, its amazing how much you get out of it for its size and yes, the touch-screen pen support is much better than you expect. Its not a cheap device, but worth every cent. Highly recommend itlaunch

The issue I have with the Asus X13 (late 2021 model) and Asus X16 is the eGPU port. It is stiff and a pain to plug/unplug compared to Asus X16. I bought the XG mobile AMD 2022 variant for the X13 as my mobile power unit and using it was harder than the Asus Z13 port that is on the slate. Constant wriggling, making sure the clips won't break, being extremely gentle are the things to do with this one. The battery alone outpaces the Z13 and as a 2-in-1 makes portable lapping amazing (I wish the Asus Z13 has a BT keyboard like lenovo tablets for increased versatility).launch

I was able to buy this laptop from Best Buy. I have the 4070 with 32 gig of ram for all the monies.\n\nA couple things in this review are wrong. First, there is advanced optimus mux switching without restarting. It came on by default (or was enabled in an update). I think it might have been enabled when I switched my Nvidia driver from Studio to Game Ready.\n\nAlso, this laptop is completely silent and cool when not gaming. Literally no sound. I am in the performance mode in Armory Crate as well.launch

I have last year model and i did not really understand when Mat said that temperature is controlled better. My laptop on silent stays around 24 Db and you can barely hear it, though i only use silent mode while surfing web, like youtube and what not. On the other hand on performance while playing a game (older game, like kingdoms of amalur 2 - its 3050ti afterall) the noise does go up to like 40, maybe 50 Db, though it is measured through armoury crate, so might be not as accurate. The keyboard temperature does get hot, not very intrusive though, especially since you don't really have controls in middle top really either. \n\nAt the end of the day - by no means i am saying buy last year model, unless the price is really that much more lower. I bought the laptop for the design, size and weight - al of these stayed the same/similar. Used to have old 17inch which was massive. This one - beautiful.launch

I bought this \"laptop\" about a month ago. I absolutely love it! I play Elden Ring, I play dying light 2 on high settings, there are no fps drop to be spoken of. The External GPU takes most of the load off the laptop itself, so the PC never actually gets that hot. Obviously dont try to play crazy games with it in tablet mode. BUT! Heroes of might and magic 3 works great as a touchscreen pc game, darkest dungeon is great with it, Civilization franchise is totally touchfriendly also and many more...... Also i want to say 1 more thing, yes- obviously this is pricey, but you really get what you paid for: You have a computer that can do EVERYTHING. \nHere is how i have my set up: \nI have my External GPU (which has like a crazy amount of ports) set up on my desk, with a big gaming screen, some BT speakers, a keyboard, and a mouse (the mouse came in the box with the pc, its awesome with lots of buttons and a removable weight for custom gaming wahhhhh), and the flow x 13 itself- i just plug in and plug out as i want. The External GPU charges the laptop also, ive never actually used the charger for the pc itself (its just chilling in my backpack- next to the powerbank XD ).\n\n\nI have a 16gb touchscreen laptop which can plug in/connect to anything whenever im out, and i have a 32 gb RAM, 3080 RTX, gamestation at home to be reckoned with. I havent even started using the drawing stuff- but i will. Asus really take a step to allow you use your products efficiently, u get 2 separate (amaizing looking and v good quality) cases in the box- 1 for the laptop and 1 for the external gpu, so really i could bring everything with me and it wont be bigger than 2 regular books, literally- the ps5 controller and the headset would weigh more and take up more space than than the flow + station. This is what you pay for. \n\nOh ye AND- this is the first laptop that ive seen that has a real \"silent mode\". I even put my ear to it- couldnt hear a damn thing.launch

I have two of these laptops. One refurbished 2021 model (with the 4k screen) and another new-old stock crazy deal of an EU 2022 sku with a 1080p screen without discrete graphics *but* with an AMD XG Mobile. The latter deal I snagged at 1200 euro. I’ve added a 4090 XG Mobile to this ecosystem. The 1080p X13 is my daily driver for work and photo editing. The lack of discrete graphics and 1080p screen give this laptop great battery life, easily full office day. At night, when jacked in the AMD and especially the 4090 XG Mobile, the rig is my couch-console style gaming system. 4K DLSS performance nets me consistent 60 fps on all games, including the most recent ones like Star Wars Outlaws and Wukong Black Myth. \n\nI’m very sad Asus seems to be discontinuing XG Mobile. They removed the XG port on the ROG Ally X, unceremoniously mentioning it in their live stream as “USB4 just made a lot more sense” (sic). I’m strongly considering the 2023 X13 with 4070 and 1440 160hz screen, before they mothball the entire line.\n\nThanks for showing the X13 some love, I absolutely adore these laptops!launch

The Flow X13 just is so much better with the XG Mobile. Without it, the port suite is bad. What people forget is how portable the XG Mobile is _with power supply integrated._ Power bricks for performance laptops weigh around 0.7kg to 0.8kg. The XG Mobile at 1.2kg is an XL power brick. The Flow X13 + XG Mobile is 2.5kg, whereas the Zephyrus G14 + power brick is 2.36kg. The carrying bag bundled is designed to hold both the X13 and the dock.\n\nFor only slightly more weight, you get the 12GB 6850M XT over the 8GB 6700S/6800S on the go. The 6850M XT has 96MB Infinity Cache and 40CU@2463Mhz (vs. 32MB and 28CU@1890Mhz/32CU@1975Mhz on the 6700S/6800S). On battery power, you won't get very far dGPUing either way. For maximizing plugged-in portability, the Flow X13's 100W power brick is like 1/3 the weight, which is just enough to power the 40W 3050 Ti.\n\nHaving a one-connector solution to take the X13 to go, while all your desktop monitors/peripherals are connected to the XG Mobile is also very convenient. I found this at Best Buy for 1300. I had the asus rog g15 and g14 not only is this way quieter when fan is at 100% but it’s CPU performance was almost identical. I absolutely love this laptop. And I am able to get about 9hrs of web browsing. If you put it in tent mode and if you switch to Manuel mode in the armory crate software you can get 45 watts out of the cpulaunch

I have this laptop 5900hs, 16gb, 3050ti and I'm a power user and I got it for $1350 at best buy brand new. I use this thing a lot in Lightroom, premier pro, Photoshop, and after effects and honestly, the thermals are pretty good considering what's inside. I also have been playing saints row remastered occasionally. The thermals are only an issue imo if you're gonna be using it on your lap, aside from that, it's not an issue. If you put the laptop in silent, turn on the egpu mode found in the laptops armoury crate and put the brightness around 50% you can comfortably get 6 hours of battery life. I run it at 120hz too so maybe this guy got a bad batter. When you turn on the 3050 and put the brightness on max, then I get around 3 hours of useage. I also have been using the camera for meetings and calls with friends and imo it's on par with laptops around other this price. Not the best but no one has every complained about it. It does get loud when in turbo under load though. If you guys have any questions about it just ask and I'll replylaunch

I bought the version with GTX1650 two days after you uploaded this. Sure my desktop has many more options available but having a full fletched computer on-the-go just makes my day. It even can play Minecraft on the iGPU at 60 fps on default settings. Not that I'm (still) playing that but hey, it lasted over 4 hours on its battery playing a game non stop. Now I got myself an MPP 2.0 stylus and things are going to the next level. No lag noticeable and very accurate. To me, this laptop, or better said, tabtop, opens a complete new view on how portable computing should be goinglaunch
