Qe had the v8 animal for 7 years almost and the battery finally got to the point it needed to be replaced. So we decided to go with the outsize absolute +...and it's not quite and user friendly as the v8...but it's what you have to expect with the size difference.launch

Great review. I just got mine on Thursday and I love it. I had a V6 and it no longer would charge so this is a big upgrade to say the least! I have a corgi , two cats and a 7 year old so I need something convenient because I vacuum every day. The suction power is great. My only complaint is the weight. Still better than dealing with the cord of my other vacuum. I have hardwood and carpet and it switches easily and does a nice job on both.launch

I really wish these had a two stage trigger. The trigger should go down first until it stops, pressing it further should have a tactile click which is what turns on the vacuum. As it is, it's really easy to accidentally turn it on with a little pressure.launch

I've been using the V11 Outsize for a few days now, and I do have some complaints. \n\nI wish you could wall mount the second battery. Another dock in the box would have worked.\n\nI wish there was a rubber over mold on the handle so it was easier to grip the vacuum without it slipping.\n\nAn extension hose included in the box for using the tools in handheld mode. You mentioned how it was difficult to use it in handheld mode with above floor cleaning. \n\nA battery display on the top of the vacuum (where the V10 power selecter is). Currently, if you wall mount it, the charging status indicator is the LCD display which is very difficult for shorter people to even see. Plus, the writing is upside down.\n\nA charging sound like on every single smartphone would have been nice.\n\nI also find the new trigger design to be less comfortable. I'm coming from the V11 Torque Drive.launch

We have this model and its worth every cent for us with three cats and 3 chow chows in the house. Add in the I have not had to clean a brush since we got it and its used daily. I wish the fluffy brush came in the XL size is my only complaint. After using it for over a week it does not feel so heavy now so you get used to it. We love it and I tested it on a area rug up against our Dyson V11 and this Dyson Gen5 Outsize won hands down it way more stronger and will auto adjust speed to dirt on floors and rug. Its a beast and our best cordless Dyson to date. Defiantly worth buying it from the Dyson site for sales and discounts.launch

So basically, they realized that other cordless vacs were getting more attention and they decided to finally give us features. Though for that amount of money, I still want some led lights, a lighter vacuum, and the fluffy head included. I didn't buy the previous V11 because it was far too heavy. Very happy they have a removable battery now.launch

After having it for almost a year I’ve found that the battery packs started wiggling a lot more when clicked into the vacuum. I wish they had made it differently maybe like how other vacuums you drop their batteries into a slot so there is zero wiggle. \n\nI am contemplating on reaching out to Dyson because not only the battery packs are becoming loose, but the main tube is also having the same problem. \n\nOther than those problems the vacuum kicks ass. In my honest opinion I don't like the Dyson. There are too many design flaws. It is not hygienic when opening the bin. The hoover is not sucking up the dust in one go. It struggles with pet hair. Battery does not last long when set on max power. It is loud. How loud? As loud as fighter jet. I prefer my corded vaccuum.launch

I just bought a dyson outsize origin and I really like it except there is a major flaw with the main brush head. It keeps letting a bunch of dirt go inside the endcap where the brush motor is even though the brush is all the way in and is put together correctly and properly clicked into place. The dirt build up caused it to jam up once. The brush never wants to come out easily at all either. Takes a lot of grunting and wearing my arm out trying to pull it out. For whatever reason the brush head started to vibrate louder also.launch
