I think the main reason why they put a time display on the back is becuase in many business culture, if you don't want to miss any notifications or calls during a meeting or business meal, it'll be more polite to have your phone on the table screen side down so it is actually kinda neat of a designlaunch

There are some battery drain tests out on YouTube already, specifically comparing it to the iPhone 17 pro max (the version with a sim card slot) as well as some others. Spoiler alert, it beat all the other phones in the battery drain test, but at the end it only lasted 3 minutes more than the 4800mah iPhone 17 pro max which is not all that impressive conpared to what'd you expect on paper. Prolly gonna get better and more optimized with software updates tho, at least I would hope so.launch

My friend has one and there was a full moon at the christmas party we were both at and I snapped a picture with my iPhone 16 and showed it to him bragging on the camera... he laughed pulled out his Xiaomi 17 pro and took a photo of the moon... dude you could see craters on the moon and it filled the entire field of view while the moon on the iPhone was a pencil eraser sized blob of to much exposure and not enough focus... I've been saying it for years, Xiaomi is incredibly underrated. My last two phones and my current one, all Xiaomi phones. I got them for 160€ and they all worked really well. My current one is now maybe 2 years old and the battery is still amazing. The charger I got works so well it's insane. It has much more power than a normal charger. My phone needs like an hour to be fully charged. Even after two years. Everything about my phone works well, I have no complaints. The price for a phone like this is insanelaunch

It’s not a cheap Chinese knockoff. It’s generally the real deal. It’s pretty cool and neat. Sure it’s taken inspiration from modern iPhone’s and basically made kind of a ripoff version but it’s still top notch quality and its own thing. More competition the better I say. Well done. It’s a pretty neat Phone. One thing I hate is iPhone’s are getting worse and worse with battery issues, particularly drainage then they get old fast. It’s all by design imo so we upgrade sooner rather than later. Xiaomi has a beefy battery and I can appreciate that.launch

I'm in China and last October I bought the Chinese ROM Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. It was nice, but in English mode the screen at the back did nothing but display a picture, and the main screen felt a little dull and lacklustre. Last week I traded it for the Xiaomi 17. The retail price here for the 512GB version of the 17 is $660, with a free gift box with Xiaomi earbuds, a rucksack, and a thermos flask. With the trade in on my 6-month old phone I paid $50 for it. Then got a $60 voucher in return. Felt like a good deal in the shop (in Suzhou, Jiangsu). Well, I love the Xiaomi 17 so much more. The screen feels much more vibrant - the colours just pop! It's way smaller and lighter to hold, which I really prefer. The cameras seem just as good and the processor is the same one as well. The only thing I have noticed which is negative, is, as this reviewer also noticed, that the back does get hot, even with only mild use. Hopefully that is not going to cause any long-term issues. Bottom line: this is the one to get in the lineup and amazing for the price.launch
