New roam model is needed. I’m shallow, but it just looks dated. Bezel too big, not nice form factor. I switched to 1040 solar simply for something more modern even though I actually prefer wahoo. A new Roam with a better sized screen and shape would switch me back in a heartbeat.launch

I'm seriously disappointed that they didn't increase the screen size. My eyes aren't what they used to be and I don't want to have to invest $500 in special prescription cycling glasses just so I can read my speed and power. 20% bigger and I would acutally be able to read the thing. (I have astigmatism, btw, so not easily correctible with either contacts or simple \"reader\" add-ons)\n\nUpdate: in spite of my misgivings, I did end up getting this computer to replace my v1 Bolt and it is a big improvement in many ways. But seriously, Wahoo, come out with a bigger screen that better fits this huge form factor!launch

Wahoo Roam V2 does not display street names on the map, which is so surprising. Buttons only in 2024, is not good since this prohibits users to enter destination address directly on the unit when you do not have the phone when riding. What is the point of having phone always with the unit. Seems like It has 2015 year SoC/Chip inside, it is a very old hardware. Compared to Garmin 840, this wahoo Roam V2 is no match. Garmin from GPS routing, to POI, ability to enter address on the unit with touchscreen, ability to disable touch and use buttons if required by some users, battery life is longer, health advance stats in Garmin APP, ability to load 3rd party data fields, and more. Routeless ClimbPro is just awesome.launch

Looks like a good product. But a GPS without raod names. What is the point. Garmin 840 is much better in this regards than wahoo v2. And 840 has touchscreen with buttons. Easy to enter address directly in the unit in garmin 840. Wahoo needs to make maps with more details especially the road name. And so much wastage of these useless leds on the side taking up screen space.launch

I'm debating getting the garmin 530 vs wahoo element roam v2. I heard that garmin has connectivity problems with gps and wahoo doesn't have problems at all. I thought that the roam v2 gps was accurate but watching your video is seems like it's not sometimes. Do you know if the street addresses will be added at some point to the roam v2 maps? Do you know if it alerts you about calls and text messages? can you answer/read them? I will use it pretty much for road rides thanks!launch

Many existing Roam V1 and Bolt V2 owners feel the V2 doesn't offer enough new functionality to justify upgrading, especially given the price increase, citing missing features like quick text replies and multiple bike profiles.

He should’ve mentioned whether this device supports multiple bike profiles. I have a Boltv2 and it only supports single bike profile. After every ride, I have to go into my Strava to edit my bike profilelaunch

Thank you for a great video, as usual :-) Regarding Roam v2, it's somewhat underwhelming from the perspective of Roam v1 user. If I may say so, I would advice to... compare it more against Roam v1 than Bolt v2. Then again, potential customers would not see enough reasons to upgrade - at least this is what I think.launch

FFS just drop a screen protector on the Garmin and you have a Garmin with a matt screen.. its not rocket science!!\n\r\nAnd im sorry, but I find that Garmins are much easier to setup than Wahoo… and the Garmin connect app is better and a lot more stable..\r\n\nUSB-C, raised buttons, improved GPS and more colours were much needed, but is it worth upgrading just for this? If I were looking to upgrade I’d probably dip deeper into my pocket and move to a Hamerhead Karoo 2.launch

Slightly annoyed that roam v2 along with bolt v2 get highlighted HR zones depending on your heart rate at the time but roam does not, even though it has the capability of it shown in the summit update with gradient zones. Shame as roam v2 'for most people' is not worth the price if you have a roam and you only need a few maps . Still a good product but nothing revolutionary. Cracking review as always though!launch

Increased price and just a new usb connection and the cable included is not even a C to C cable - it’s the out of date A-C cable. \nEssentially, this is only for people who damage their old roam, don’t have warranty again and want a new one - cos I have a Roam and I am not even interested in this. Cycling tech is still weird and oddly priced to me.launch

Recently bought me the Roam V1, with a great discount. Mostly for using it as a navigation device. Garmin wasn’t an option, considering the reviews on this. However, the biggest let down on the Wahoo was; NO ODOMETER on the device! Man, come on! Still can’t comprehend. Is this issue sorted out on the V2, anyone?launch

Dark mode makes route chevrons on the map and elevation profile turn black, making them nearly invisible against the dark background. Users want the ability to keep dark mode on data pages while using light mode for map/profile screens.

I really like dark mode on the 'normal' datafields. The contrast is really good.\nHowever, on the map and profile it is horrible. The chevrons for a route are also black, so yo don't see the route. And the details are not clear to me.\nSo I would like to see a possibility to have light mode for map and profile and the possibilty for dark mode on the other pages.launch

Some users report variable battery life depending on charger and cable combination, needing a specific non-Apple charger over 2 Amps to hit Wahoo's claimed runtime. Others note the device drains faster when paused than when actively recording.

Things I'd like to see in an update:\n- Serious work about shortening boot time (it's taking more than 2 minutes ffs!)\n- Better battery life when idle (it sucks way more battery when paused than when running... On the battery charge not being 100%, I've noticed variability in the battery life depending on the charger and cable used on my Roam V2. At all times the unit says 100% but with the same sensors / phone paired the battery life can vary between 10hours and approx 17hours. Searched the forums and saw that the Roam V2 needs to use the USB C cable it came with and a non-apple charger that has an output in excess of 2 Amps in order to get a full charge. Since using a specific charger / cable combination the battery life in consistently close to the Wahoo claims, I was about to return the unit up to this change in charger.launch
