Rode Connect software is powerful but inconsistent across setups. Many praised Rode Connect's gain, sensitivity, bass boost, compressor and vibrance settings as nearly eliminating the need for post-processing. However, others hit driver conflicts, Rode Connect not appearing in Windows sound outputs, or noise and quietness on Windows 10 until manually fixed, suggesting reliability varies by PC or unit.

No physical gain control causes clipping on louder sources. A recurring frustration was the inability to adjust mic volume on the device itself, which caused severe overload distortion recording guitar amps or loud singing, with one user calling it 'useless' for anything above podcast volume.
