I went with the Polk ES50s myself too.. for my first time \"real deal\" audio setup. I decided it was time to step up from the cheap soundbar I was using, which wasnt bad, im not hard to satisfy, but I had 10 grand sitting around and albeit I knew I wasnt going to spend my entire budget on that since its a first time build and I have no wisdom at all only knowledge, but just in case. I actually got really close to the 10k though, let me explain.\n\nI like lower volumes and rarely have maximum volume sessions per the very very blue moon, im a \"background\" music kinda person, meaning I tend to have my back or sides to the speakers more than my face. The ES50s, with a dual 5 1/4 woofer setup and a 2.5 way cascade crossover perfectly matched the \"harmony\" of the 2 way system which I am replacing, often not appreciated, where as I found that using 3 way speakers makes the bass sound very some what disconnected, even with room correction/placement, an added subwoofer and proper pass filters, like, I could always find the subwoofer, but, with a 2 or 2.5 way system its hard for me to find a subwoofer, I can even run a 2 way system raw, without RC, and still struggle to find a well matched sub, my old sound bar had a pretty powerful sub and I couldn't find it at all no matter how much or how low I had it set I wanted to keep things that way with my new setup. I learned all of this through asking questions to the right communities, research and auditioning/demoing speakers. After about 6 months of buying and trying, researching, I kept returning to the Polks ES50s. The only thing you have other than the ES50s, while still wanting to keep a 5\" woofer setup + bi-amp, are the Q acoustics Concept 50s but they're almost 4x the cost and they also are rear ported, where as the polks have a bottom side port making them way more viable for me.\n\nI look forward to building around these speakers, theyre truly great value. I use them for music, and background sound.

I own these same color S50 Towers. They are the centerpiece of my home theater and absolutely ROCK!! I keep my separate Subwoofers turned off for 90% of my viewing sessions because these towers have low-end that is absolutely incredible! Combine that with the natural highs and mids they produce and you have quite possibly the best pair of home front speakers that money can buy for under $500/pr.

I have already purchased the ES35 slim center channel and four ES10 bookshelf speakers for my rear suround and middle hieght Atmos speakers. I have a 150 watt 10\" pinoeer down firing ported sub woofer I intend to keep for now (maybe upgrade to 2 Polk HTS 10 sub woofers down the raod).\nI am thinking of going with ES55 or ES60 floor standing speakers for my front left and right channels although these ES50's sound pretty impressive too! Are you running any other speakers in this video or everything though the polks? \nBeautiful setup by the way!!!
