Honestly with Garmin reviewers are ignoring a lot of problems while talking up gimicky features with little use. I don't have a polar but several friends and it exceeds if you want to actually work out, in usability. Flow might look outdated but I much prefer it to connect or the Suunto alternative.\n\nThere is a strange development with reviewers that it's all about stuffing your watch with the most features even if their mathematical foundation is sketchy at best.\n\nI am comparing a Epix/ Fenix 7 pro to the Grit right now and if the titanium version wouldn't be so much more expensive I would buy the Polar.launch

If your not into Garmin or Coros, this is a hard sell over the Suunto Race. Wether you like Suunto or not, the standard race is at a very aggressive price point that's not far from half the price of the Grit X 2 pro.launch

I've waited for this review like a rising moon (a Finnish phrase), since the first look video! I feel like Polar are lacking way behind their competitors, but still most of my friends and people overall use their watches here in Finland. I am familiar with the \"support local\" thinking, but still.. Buying a Vantage M2 two years ago as a brand new release and it getting little to no software updates and switching to Garmin Forerunner 955, which has much more to it and has been getting all the high-end software features from Epix 2 Pro and Fenix 7 Pro via software updates has been an eye-opener for me. \n\nPolar having the same god damn UI look year after year seems really disappointing. That could be a factor that would revitalise their lineup a bit, if nothing else is getting changed. Maps look pretty poor compared to Garmin's ones having all the street names, downhill skiing trails and shadings.\n\nWhen looking at the features of the new Grit X2 Pro, the list had little to nothing more than my Forerunner 955 and I feel like many features that the 955 has are taken to a much higher level.\n\nWould be nice to have a comparison between Grit X2 Pro and Forerunner 965, since they both have AMOLED screens. Price-wise I agree with Ray that Grit X2 Pro is way too pricey:\n\nGarmin Forerunner 965\n-679€\n\nPolar Grit X2 Pro\n-749€\n\nAnyway, now I'll head to watch this masterpiece of a video!launch

Great Review once again. Really appreciate your time! \n\nI have the watch and i can say that the heart rate is not that good but not bad either. I can trust it in most of the times, but i agree with you that when it looses the heart rate it does more than 20-30 seconds to display the right value. \n\n I was expecting from Polar to introduce a watch like this for outdoor activities but not with an Amoled. It is not only me personal preference but i still believe that the MIP is the way to go for a watch that is specifically designed and proposed to the market as the Ultimate outdoor sports watch. I have 2 Amoled Watches and 2 MIP. Trust me everyone's i have shown the watches when we were outside hiking or running, or swimming, they prefered the MIP even the colors were not so vibrant but the clear and visibility on MIP were exceptional.launch

very very bad heart rate monitoring. The values are all over the place. They go high then down again high again down, then stabilize then they loose again the real value they go high then again down, and again and again and again. The worst is that i have purchased both Vantage 3 and Grit X2 Pro. If they do not fix it i will trrought them in the basket really. I dont care about the amount of money i gave. I see they do not listen to the customers at all. I'm trying to help them and support them by purchasing their products, but they do not listen. I also have a Garmin Fenix 7 Pro and an Instinct 2X. I can tell that Garmin never, never lost its measurement. Every time i check the Garmin is on the spot and aligned with the Polar Verity Sense. I could accept to have values close to the verity sense, not exactly the same (which Garmin really follows almost the exact values compared to verity sense) but this is all over the place. You cannot trust it. One day goes well, then the other the values are everywhere from + - 10 to 15 even more from what they suppose to be, and the next day when the intenstity of the activity exceeds 165 bpm it looses its brain and just shows 139 - 135 - 148.....whatever.launch

I returned my Vantage 3 because of awful HR reading and unreliable offline maps. Basically the only 2 features I care about in sport watches. This one has the same sensor! And I do not believe to fairytales about next firmware that fixes everything. Releasing such an expensive device and fix problems later is unacceptable. And Good Lord - PRICE, do they look at their competitors even occasionally? I was thinking that AWU was overpriced, but Polar overshot even greedy Apple.launch

I think it is a very correct point made, that this Grit X2 Pro is mainly going to attract those who are already Polar fans, or maybe even fanatics, as there seems to be no intensive whatsoever for people using other brands like e.g. Garmin to even consider switching over. Sport watches is a tough market and unless you can provide e.g. superior build quality, superior accuracy, or superior price point, then no one is likely going to want it.launch

Polar is so far behind its competitors… The interface from this watch is the same as my 200$ Polar Ignite from 2019 and it was already ugly and dated back then. I switched to Garmin and their watch interface is so much prettier, cleaner, they have many more functionalities and the connection between the watch and phone is 10 times better.launch

Honestly these gestures to get the display on are destroying any enjoyment of AMOLED screens for me on a watch. I dont run doing these moves looking at a watch and it would be very distracting if such movements would be a requirement. Even in AoD at least Garmin dims their screens after seconds and make it impossible to read well which means not usable at all on a bike and a pain while navigating. \n\nPolar going full AMOLED in their top products sadly means I wont buy Polar in the future. An outdoor watch with 3 days of battery life in full use. Great. \n\nThe design is extraordinary. Imo the most beautiful watch out there right now.launch

GREAT REVIEW once again. One concern here, i cannot understand why the companies are not listening to the customers and update their top of the line watches with an AMOLED displays. They do not listen to us, also the youtubers and reviews are not listening to us as well. They just try to promote what the marketing and the fashion of this no sense Amoled world offers for this particural sport activity area of interest. Please guys give us the option to have top of the line watches with an MIP display. We do not like AMOLED for the sport watches, WE DO use the watches for our everyday out-door activity and we do not use the watch for going for a coffee. MIP is much more clear and visible outside where we need to have this clearance and visibility and ease of use. What is so difficult to understand? These marketing guys they want to gather money for their companies, but that is not the case sometimes, as after this happy period, then companies will realise the mistake they made and then there is no come back. I'm true believer of the MIP. If in the near future an AMOLED display is usable outside under the sun and there is no need to turn the watch all the time to check the data, then i will get it and accept it.launch

I am writing this to share my deep frustration with the new Polar Grit X2 Pro. Despite being a premium sports watch, it is virtually impossible to synchronize it with my phone.\n\nI have spent the entire day trying to fix this: I've reinstalled the Polar Flow app multiple times, restarted both the watch and the phone, and ensured all software and firmware versions are up to date. Nothing works. From a device of this price point, I expected a 'plug and play' experience, but instead, I got a constant struggle with connectivity.\nIt's disappointing to see such basic\nfunctionality failing on a flagship model. I’ve been a Polar fan since my old S720 watch that connected to my PC and the included Polar Personal Trainer software with an infrared sensor to download the data. I had to ship the old models to a Polar dealer to get new batteries (what a hassle) I have updated several watch models over the years and really like the Polar Flow APP and my Vantage V2 the multiple test. But I never felt Polar watches had stable OS in the watches and frequently hiccups to reboot or loose data during my training was frustrating. I don’t think I would get the new Grit or Vantage watches unless they have worked out the bugs.launch

I would consider buying it for 599€. You can easily get an Epix 2 SS for 620€ and an Epix 2 pro for 699€ on sale (Europe). With Wifi, Body Battery, Stress, way better Maps, NFC, 3rd Party Apps etc. So 749€ for the Grit X 2 Pro is way too much money. Polar Flow will need a overhaul too.launch
