If you are looking for a good all-round set of headphones, these are worth looking at. They are very well built, comfortable for general listening, and are more accurate than many studio headphones I have tested for mixing.,, plus they provide good sound isolation despite being an on-ear vs over-ear design. If you're a DJ and you like the smaller on-ear design, these are among the best available without spending a lot more.

I've had these since 2018 and my first pair is still rocking with great sound and comfort. I liked them so much I bought my wife a pair and then both of us back up pairs when these eventually die (no indication they will any time soon) I like these better then my Hdj-2000's and if you can still find these for around $200-250 I would definitely pick them up.

So... I received my Pioneer HDJ-S7 and my initial experience is a kind of mixed bag with more negatives than actual positives...\nI will give a little bit more time to pay around with the headphones... but there were 2 things that spotted immediately:\n\n1) the comfort and fit is horrible... It feels loose on my head and 1 ear monitoring is not really an option. Not like a Sennheiser HD 25... Also the hard headband is keep pushing top of my head and thin ear cups do the same as well... this happens after few mins use.\n2) It sounds weird... :S Has this kind of heavily pushed mid-bass sound... which can be a good thing because you can always hear the kick drum... but sounds quite \"slushy\" and hard edged. Something like the AIAIAI TMA-1, but less warmth. Maybe it requires some burn-in as my X10 did... But i still find ridiculous advertising these as a \"High Definition\", \"5kHz to 40kHz\" frequency range headphones... :(\n\nPutting back the V-Moda M100 after the S7 is almost a night and day difference! Much more better comfort (with XL pads) and more pleasant, less unnecessarily aggressive tone in sound. In the S7 almost all the track sounded the same, while in the M100 i could hear the slight differences, so could to a better EQ-ing. But the V-Moda is still not a too accurate one for - let's say - sound editing... I would rather use a HD 25 for those purposes or other real studio headphones.\n\nThe only thing i like about the S7 is the very pronounced \"bass kick\" which makes beat matching a bit easier... There were a few tracks where it was a bit hard to hear the beats on the V-moda, but with the S7 i could easily track them... But this is a two blade sword due to the weird sound signature. So you could probably hear the beats, but all the other frequencies don't seem that clear unfortunately. Maybe after a long burn-in the sound might change... but honestly i don't have much belief in that... \n\nIn summarise, if you really want a good on-ear headphone - it seems - the Sennheiser HD 25 is still the one and only choice. This is kind of funny no other company is able to make a decent on-ear for 30 years...
