Hey I bought the behringer umc404 which would be perfect for me expect it introduces this high pitch noise into the signal. the headphone amp is kinda noisy to. I don't have any analog gear so I don't need all of the ins and outs, two pre's would work but 4 would be better just in case. Should I just go with the motu and expand later? or send the umc404 back to behringer for repair?

I have a question: I'm using a Scarlett 6i6 but I always had problems with the lack of phantom power in the line inputs in the back of the interface. I need a interface with good preamps for more delicate sounds. the analog inputs in the ultra lite mk4 have that? I mean...would I still need a pre amplifier to use it?

been a Motu user for past 10 years. the best drivers after RME. USB drivers for both PC and Mac with a claimed 2.4ms roundtrip latency measured at 96kHz/32 sample buffer size. That’s a respectable figure considering USB limitations, but I’m not sure how many of you realistically record at such low buffer settings. i have actually just ordered Ultralite mk5 lol thanks for the video!

MOTU interface is balanced line out, and offers control of level out. Male TRS 1/4\" to male XLR adapter per channel is actually better and far less expensive. Active di box brings nothing to this party that U need. The purist view is more active stages are a signal degradation, no matter how expensive they are. Buffering the signal is another matter, and already provided by the source.

Hi, I just bought the UltraLite mk4 to work with Premiere Pro and do 5.1 surround sound monitoring. It's working well and much better than my old computer speaker setup. I have a quick (and probably dumb) question that I can't seem to find the answer to...Is it possible to play dvd audio through my MOTU? I have a built in DVD player in my computer and I would like to route the audio to my monitor speakers, which are connected to the MOTU. I can see in the Playback Sound window on my PC that I have two options for the MOTU: 1) Speakers - MOTU Pro Audio and 2) Out 1-24 MOTU Pro Audio. The first option appears to send the audio to the MAIN outs and gives me stereo audio. The second option \"seems\" to be the correct option if I want to route the 5.1 audio to my secondary outs on the MOTU. Unfortutely, it doesn't route any audio. And when I try to play a test tone in the Windows Sound panel, I get the message \"Failed to play test tone\". Wondering if you have any experience using the MOTU for this purpose? And if so, would you mind sharing how you made it work? Thanks so much! Jody
