I have been using the ProFx10v3+ mixer for 6 months now, recording a prayer group program for radio. Last night, while recording, the computer (MacBook Pro (M1) kept intermittently loosing the connection. The ProFX still showed up on my list of connected audio in control, but when the computer lost its connection, it switched in computer mike and grayed out. Then it would switch back to the ProFx. I used the USBC output from the mixer to an Anker powered hub and that was connected to the Mac via its USB-C cable to a USB-C port. There are only two ports, both do the same thing. I have have been given many suggestions, but I'm not sure who's correct. I need to have this problem resolved before the next recording session.launch

So I am using the same mixer (the ProFx12v3) with the Serato DJ Pro on my Mac, and I’m trying to get audio using USB ch. 11/12 but I’m not getting anything. No audio or feedback. Can you kindly help on this? I’ve tried all meanslaunch

Great content right there as always! I'd like to see an extended video tutorial about the usb 1-2 and 3-4 function. I have the pro fx12v3 right now and facing some issues with the usb mode. Have to connect it through an anger hub as my Mac m1pro doesn't have usba port. When using usb mode on either 1-2 or 3-4 function, the sound cuts interminently every 20-30 secs. Also some times I can't bring the sound in my daw and through my plugins for my guitar. I would HIGHLY appreciate to see a video about the usb modes on a Mac while recording and the proper settings on the Mac!! Many thanks and keep the good work!!launch

Hi. I just bought the New Mackie profx 6v3+. I am running windows 10. I downloaded the new drivers 5.5.8.0. For some weird reason my computer keeps on freezing once I plug in usb. I can't run any other applications when the Mackie is plugged in..any idea what the problem CV could be??launch

Anyone know how many effects can be used at the same time and can different effects be used on separate channels. For example could I have reverb on Vocal input 1 and simultaneously apply chorus and reverb to an acoustic guitar on input 2? And if so can I do this for all inputs or is there a limit?launch

Hi. Great review- thank you for explaining so much. I recently purchased one of these but find something baffling; with the To Phones/Control Rm button depressed, a guitar plugged into Channel One with the HiZ button depressed, and the GigFx engine turned on, all of the 24 effects are able to be heard on headphones EXCEPT Fx Distortion. I would like to do scratch recordings to my computer using the onboard distortion with the Blend knob, but the distortion isn't present when the To Phones/Control Rm button is depressed. I can't understand why all the effects are audible except distortion. If I disengage the To Phones/Control Rm button, the distortion is audible, as are any other of the 24 effects. I've tried every kind of combination of switches and faders that I can think of. Do you have any suggestions? I contacted Mackie support on their website but I thought maybe you could provide some insight. I discovered that I CAN get Fx Distortion to work with the To Phones/Control Rm button depressed. BUT.... to get the distortion to be present, the Blend knob has to be rotated past center, counterclockwise toward USB 1-2. The further the knob is rotated; the more distortion gain is achieved. The problem with this is: the computer mix volume is increased also. This seemingly defeats the purpose of using the Blend knob, which is: to adjust the relation between the computer mix volume and the guitar input volume- at least when a guitar player is recording using the onboard distortion effect. The only way to change the ratio of Gig FX distortion input signal to DAW signal is to turn the Blend knob to the point where you are satisfied with the level of distortion and go back to the DAW's software and make level adjustments there. The Blend knob seems to act as a gain adjustment- from clean to very distorted. This also contradicts what you said when describing the Blend knob- that when the knob is cranked fully counterclockwise, no input signal is heard. With the distortion effect engaged, the processed input signal IS heard. So weird that only the distortion effect changes when cranking the blend knob. None of the other effects are increased when cranking the knob to the right. It's like the other effects are routed differently. You would think they would all be routed the same way in the chain.launch

Longtime owners who used previous Mackie mixers miss the parametric EQ, which they found valuable for dialing in tone on instruments lacking their own EQ. Some also note missing global EQ or RCA inputs compared to older models.

I have this mixer, and I have owned all the other versions that came before it. I DO love all the new features however I miss the parametric EQ that was on the version before this one.\nThe parametric EQ is a VERY useful tool for dialing in tone on instruments that do not have an installed parametric EQ. Other than that I love this mixer. The optional fitted bag you can buy for it is awesome as well, I always buy the optional bag for these mixers and they are def gig rough and fit the mixer like a glove with great padding and zippers. I am using my new one (the model in this video) in my home studio to be able to hook up various pieces of gear and send a left right signal to my Focusrite interface. One more thing that is great about this version is that it comes with an incredible DAW for free! I use a much older version of Waveform, back when it was called Tracktion, its a very coo DAW, everything is on one page, its complete, it plays well with VST's and it actually teaches you how to use it as you are using it with pop up bubbles.launch

What I didn’t realize was that there’s no graphic equalizer sliders on the v3. I’m used to that on the old version and wondering if there’s no need or if I should tie in an equalizer. Echoing with other viewers here I also hope that you are well. Miss your awesome tutorials on audio engineering...you are by far the best tutor on YT. \nThat said, I viewed this and your other video where you compared this Mackie w/a Yamaha and a Behringer, and ended up buying this Mackie last week. Now since the mic preamp on this Mackie is indeed a bit weaker than the Yamaha you mentioned in that other comparison video (and perhaps weaker than my old Yamaha MG12/4FX), can I use my Steinberg UR 22MKII interface as a mic preamp? If so, how do I connect it with the Mackie? Woud truly appreciate yours or any viewers' here suggestions/advise. Thank you, and please come back at your earliest.launch

I like my Behringer qx better the mackie effects sound bad and the mic preamps don’t even seem as good, thin sounding \n\nI get weird feedback off my Sennheiser EWD mics as well when I gain them up too much \n\nI don’t know not real happy with it \nI hate I have no slider and mute for my monitor \n\nAnd when I mute a mic it also mutes the monitor it seemslaunch

The mixers are rugged and built to last, But........ I've been thru 4 freaking power supplies. They just fall apart at the adapter. The pins for phase and neutral collapsed into the plastic housing of the adapter. Yes four adapters. And they're not universal. The connection pin to the mixer is a special mackie connector. That's over $200 I've had to spend replacing to keep using a $300 mixer. Fifty bucks plus each time. It's pretty sad really. I could have bought a better mixer with that money gathering than replacing badly designed power supplies. Feel free to reach out Mackie if ya want to trade and upgrade my mixer!launch

Great review...but just want to mention i bought this mixer and was only using a couple of channels...when adding another input to channel 5/6 i noticed when adjusting the slider it was very scratchy and was cutting out...I'm not sure if this was like this when I purchased it...so check everything works first..the mixer is currently at Mackie being repaired on warranty...hopefully it will be OK when its returned.launch

The only issue I have with the GigFX is that it doesn't remember your last selection when you power off the mixer. If you put the mixer on Hall Reverb for example and if you cycle the power, it will go back to the Delay effect. I hope Mackie releases a firmware update to fix this issuelaunch

Hi , I have the mix 12 fx... Going into the mixer I have an xlr cable for my mic into slot 1, and a direct 1/4 line going into 2 for my guitar .. going out I have 1/4 line going into speaker channel 1, and a xlr going into speaker channel 2... Both are 1/4 lines leaving left main out and right main out ... When I raise the fader volume and get to 5 DB line which is in the bottom range of where I should be I get a hum or bad white noise sound .. I even added a 2 to 3 prong adapter on the end of the main plug for the mixer .. the hum is still there .. is there anything you can think of to stop this ??launch
