Great review. I also got one and had similar problems but I couldn't name some of the problems like you did. For example I was trying to refresh some pages using the F5 button it didn't work because I was actually pushing the F4 button. Then I tried again with F5 after some eye search of its location. Still it did not work as it does not function as 'function' button anymore. Then I thought of using it with 'shift'. Finally it worked. \n\nI bought MX keys because of its slim design. But they made strange updates, like the dimple on the keys, removing the space between every 4 F keys, removing the stands or legs that gives additional height etc. And my biggest complain is relocation of sound buttons. They used to be on top of numeric keys and 'mute' button was easiest to reach which I use the most often and most urgently. \n\nNow they are moved to F11, F12 buttons and an additional button. And the mute is the least reachable quickly. When I listen to many shows, they often use noisy, stupid sound effects which irritate me insanely and I want to immediately mute, but with MX Keys, I cannot do as fast as I used to do on K800 and have to listen stupid noisy sound effects.launch

I think they made the Keys S worse with updated function key row. \n\nI understand that you have to make room for the 3 connection keys, and this is fine. But instead of keeping essential functions like Launch Control or Launchpad (which all were useful in MacOS AND Windows), you gave us keys for Dictate and EMOJIS?!\n\nI know you can remap the keys, but this shouldn’t be the solution for a “business” focused keyboard.\n\nDictate? Niche, maybe handy for people using Siri/Cortana (but doubtful). Emoji? Literally no one is using a Emoji key. Mute? Helpful I guess.\n\nI can’t get over the fact that this has been approved in the product development. This is simply stupid. \n\nI really hope they return the MX Keys S to give it maximum universal usability. There was no reason to ruin it by this nonsense.launch

Users, that actually use F-keys are ignored..\n- F keys should be GROUPED, like leave space between F4-F5 and F8-F9\n- why move volume control to F-keys?? On K800 I can use F-keys AND control volume. On MX keys - I would have to press Fn every time I want to adjust volume. Honestly - this is a total deal breaker.\n\nThis is STYLE over FUNCTION .. Disappointed\n\nHonestly Logitech went downhill from logitech elite keyboard..launch

Wow I have the K800 as well and was looking for a replacement because my backlighting is going crazy, and my backspace keycap broke. I was considering recently the MX Keys S but I'm disappointed about the function keys layout and operation as well as lack of adjustable feet. I'm a developer and I use the function buttons to active certain things like debugging, I can't imagine not having that enabled by default. Why on earth would Logitech think this is a good idea.launch

Yeah it terrible especially in the dark unless you have this thing plugged in all the time the lag time before it senses your fingers is too long and you find yourself hitting the wrong keys. The struggle is real and why these \"reviewers\" dont talk about that amazes me. These arent terrible but the market in that price range out there offers SO much more than this. Logitech benefits from name recognition. I wouldnt buy this keyboard again.launch

Im a professional IT dev using the keyboard daily on Mac and Windows. It’s ok but there are things I will always hate…\nBacklight can’t be kept on permanently, even if I am powering the kb.\nKeys are very poor contrast with light grey on dark grey symbols, and shiny! I’ve had to remove one overhead spotlight to reduce the reflection.\nNo numlock light - wtf Logitech‽!!\nNo tilt adjustment.\nApart from that, it’s ok I suppose 🙄launch

Just got this keyboard the other day. I already have the Unifying receiver, and with the Logi Bolt receiver used by the new keyboard, I now eat up two USB slots on my laptop. The obvious fix is to buy a new mouse, which I will not do. The keycaps are not painted white, so you really need to turn on the backlighting feature in order to see the keys; I really prefer to NOT use the backlighting. Backlighting eats up battery life big time (five days vs five months!). Plus I do not want to have a USB cable connected to the keyboard for the purpose of charging the battery, sort of defeats the purpose of a \"wireless\" keyboard. I really love the form factor of the MX because it eliminates the cover that houses the keys. The reason I have replaced keyboards in the past is that the left-side Ctrl key gets bound up against cover after a couple of years of use, causing the key to stick sometimes. The MX seems to be the perfect solution to that particular problem; too bad for the aforementioned shortcomings.launch

It's a great keyboard but it has one major flaw: the intelligent Backlight! It immediately turns off after being inactive even if you rest your fingertips on the keys. That is very annoying because backlight is only useful in dark light conditions. But when it turns off just after typing the last letter you have first to touch the key board for turning on backlight again before following on with typing. That makes me crazy. I contacted Logitech support but there is no option available to adjust the time after inactivity when intelligent backlight should turn off. That makes the whole thing uselesslaunch

Mx keys and its software is crap. I mean total crap. A $100 keyboard keys begin to crack after one year of daily use. I don’t mean the mechanism, I mean the plastic key it self. Plus other keys the paint or what ever it is begins to peel off showing more of the backlighting. Constant software updates that then don’t even load. Try to save my keyboard and mouse setting back up but when I have to uninstall and reinstall the software because it doesn’t work for whatever goddamn reason, then I go to restore my settings and that doesn’t work either. Stay away from logitech and it’s overpriced garbage. When I called Logitech to see if they could sell me new ones they said the best they could do was give me 10% of a replacement overpriced garbage.launch

Another thing I've noticed about the previous versions of this keyboard is that the letterings on the keys fade away after prolonged use over the years. Did you experience this? Please let me know! Will for me Is a No. Its not good anymore… The keys are Preto fragile… and fall of… a better option from logitech Its the mx keys… and a much better option is the g915x also from Logitech…\nI really think the g915x is one of the best low profile keyboard for productivity, yes Its a han ing keyboard but i dont play anything i just use it for work, i have the brown full size and Its amazing for work… The mx mexhabical Its just fine but the kaycaps feel cheap and you cant chante the spacebar keycap because Its not standard…\nSo for productivity i recomend the g915x if you have the space for a big keyboard… and i font like the compact layout of the mx keys and mx mechanical… The Spaces between the groups of keys are very important to locate the keys without actual y seeing the keyboard…launch

I use this keyboard and indeed it is very comfortable but I have big problem that digit “7” start typing randomly without being touched. Service is very bad as I send it to them and they return it with the same problem.\nNow I have no move but just buy any other type of keyboard and for sure not from this brand!launch

Sometimes is is simply disconnected from Mac and if you don't have a second keyboard at start up to plug in, there is no way to access your Mac. It does it just like that. Also it would not hurt for Logitech to make a full video on how to explore all features.launch

Posting this incase anyone has the issue of lag and spamming letters,\nThe reason its acting up is that it is connected with both the bluetooth and the dongle which interferes both the connections and causes it to lag and spam letters. \r\nThe way you fix it is by removing the device from ur bluetooth and logioptions+ app and started from a clean slate, then finally connecting through either one of the two methods ie. Bluetooth or Dongle.\r\n\r\nFor bluetooth ignore the logioptions+ app you don't need it. Just simply press and hold one of the 3 device buttons you have on ur keyboard to enter pairing mode and then add it from windows bluetooth settings as you would normally add any bluetooth device, you need to type in the code displayed and press enter and you're good to go.\r\n\r\nFor connecting with dongle you plug the dongle in, then use logioptions+ app and select add device then click on the MX Keys S (This is written for this specific keyboard) and then connect, type in the code press enter and boom, you're done. \r\n\r\nDo either one of these and not both together as doing both causes the problem.\r\n\r\nNo more weird stuff hopefully :)launch

I appreciate your review on the Logitech MX S Keyboard. I just bought it and I really like it. It has great functionality and is comfortable to type. The only issue I am having is sometimes when I’m typing a letter decides to go rough and runs thru - RRRRRRRRRR. Any letter. It doesn’t seem like the key is stuck on the keyboard. I use it for work and so I’m not able to download the APP on the company computer. What would you recommend? I would appreciate your advice. 6:55launch

I have MX Keys and it works perfectly with Windows. I have also Mac now and it's driving me crazy that keys Home and End are mapped to PgUp/PgDown in MacOs. It is so annoying. I was able to learn the MacOs way of using Command instead of Ctrl and Ctrl for different things but can't get used to stopping using Home/End keys. This MX Keys S for Mac has Home and End keys too and I would like to know whther they work as expected or they work as PgUp/PgDown in MacOs as well. Could anyone tell?launch

I love the keyboard. My only (and extremely annoying) gripe is the lock button above the dash in the top right. I need the dash very often and the number and I repeatedly have to log in again.\nAlso the the mac commands on the keys annoy me, and even more so because they didn't take the effort to put the windows flag on the \"start\" key.launch

I've just returned MX Keys S as well. When buying I was unaware of the bizarre keys' layout (for a Windows user) which totally ruined my experience. I was unable to write an e-mail without at least 10 mistakes. No Win key is also a turn off for me. The final nail to the keyboard's coffin was the forever buggy Logi Options + app, which I was unable to launch for ~30 minutes and then I gave up. Sorry to say that, but it's a bad keyboard for Windows users IMO.\n\nBut I love the MX mice - they're fantasticlaunch

Mine cracked in three places around the corner when dropped. I beg to differ with calling the plastic housing \"high quality\". I would not try to bring this keyboard along when travelling.\nIt's a nice keyboard for sure. I type faster on the newer style Apple keyboards because their key travel is so small, so I generally prefer those, but it's hard to beat the MX Keys when it comes to comfortable typing.launch

Honestly... the spacebar on these things suck ass. Everything feels really nice and than you have these rattely, pingy sounds of the spacebar.\nOh and you can keep the lights on for up to 30 minutes straight. Logi Options did a patch to enable that option. Gets rid of the on/off shenanigans of the lights.launch

Changing the size of the left SHIFT was a deal breaker for me. I am HEAVY on that SHIFT and kept missing it. Back it went..... pity. The bigger RETURN is a good change but not enough to change my mind. (5:05) - The search continues.launch
