I just picked up one of these cheap on Reverb and I think it's great. I play fairly high gain and put this in front of a marshall-in-a-box type pedal. I love the push and boost it gives. But I really like that, on the different modes, that it doesn't take away all the low-end. Made me sound a lot bigger in my band rehearsallaunch

I routinely put a tubescreamer or copy in front of my Vox Pathfinder 15R amps all the time. The secret is when I was looking at a schematic of a fulltone plimsoul, it’s a combination of soft clipping going into hard clipping. Then I realized the pathfinder amps have hard clipping diodes. So I use the tubescreamer with its soft clipping and blend in the gain on the amp to get the right amount of hard clipping. It works so well!launch

My JCM 800 2203 + this pedal and LP Classic Custom sounds pretty badass. With mellow boost you can get classic rock crunch. With all knobs on eleven there is more gain than you will ever need. Throw in some analog delay and 80's heart ripping solos here we come :Dlaunch

Such a great walkthrough and review, Collin. I’ve had a TS9DX on my board for well over a decade. Lots of studio time and live shows with it. I agree with its being a very versatile tool. The TS9 and the + are really nice TS style OD’s. I found the HOT and TURBO modes to be too wooly and muddy for me so I would always bump the tone up quite a bit and run those modes as more of a light drive or a boost. This was my OD of choice for my Telecaster and man does it sound good!launch

This has been a staple in my bass rig for about 20 years. It's been in \"+\" mode for 10 years and I have yet to find an overdrive to knock it off my board. The modes I BELIEVE utilize an optical sensor, making it a bit unique. The first run were made by Maxon before Ibanez parted ways with them.launch

Just bought 1 of these a couple of days ago, for $100 Australian. Didn't know they existed. Was just after a TS9 as an option over my TS 808 (& many more) which I also own & use sparingly anyway, cos I live in a Van with limited places I can annoy the neighbours. Long-time owners feel the pedal has been unfairly dismissed since its 1998 release and deserves more recognition compared to standard TS9/TS808 pedals.

I use it on my pedalboard with an ibanez jemini.. I use the jemini's higher gain and ts9x's sweet feel tone. It sounds incredible.. totally recommended. Must buy. Strangely but the build quality is 5 times better than ibanez jemini's. It's made in japan unlike the jemini which is made in china.launch
