I've had mine for about three months. I am a self recording drummer. These are luxury drum tracking phones, Loud enough, with good click bleed isolation and a snug fit that stays on my head. The bass extension makes kick and toms sound full. These are by far my best sounding (and by far my most expensive) headphones ever. I think they were well worth the money. The short straight cable is great for not getting in the way when tracking, but the coiled cable should be replaced by a longer straight cable. Come on Focal. Rock On!launch

I just got these and having used the Focal Clear MG pros, Aeon 2 Noires and LCDX, ill give some things i noticed.\n\nFor a closed back, they are quite open, but it seems to be because the almost seem semi open (maybe its the grille near the focal logo). \n\nThey do not reject outside sound anywhere near the level of the Aeon 2 noire. \n\nThe build quality while looking great to the eye, is wobbly and doesnt feel like 700. Id honestly save and get the aeon 2 noire uf you want a good closed back. \n\nThey sound good but not on the level of any of the headphones i mentioned. \n\nThey feel like 400 dollar/euro headphones.\n\nThey also clamp much more than the Aeon 2 noire and Is an issue for me. \n\nThe cables arent great, that long and bad for routing. The coiled cable has too much coil and not enough cable meaning that its always going to have to be streched and in pulling motion if your interface/dac is even at arms length.\n\nIve only just got them and havent got tonput them through their paces really yet.\n\nYes I know, the other headphones i mentioned are all much more expensive, but the Aeon 2 Noire is definitely worth the extra 300 if you have a good enough amp to power it. If you want a headphone for travelling and to use with lots of devices , i still wouldnt recommend these. People around you will still easily hear what you are listening to so its easy to disturb with them. \n\nThe clear mg pro is leagues better of course its double the price, the lcx is too heavy, but sounds great , very narrow soundstage though, the aeon 2 noire has a great soundstage, and is very comfortable, but needs power.launch

Some buyers feel the construction doesn't match the price, describing it as wobbly and plastic-feeling, more like a $400 headphone than a $700 one. One tester in a store called the plastic build a dealbreaker.

A couple of users didn't hear the praised bass and instead found the sound thin and almost too metallic in the upper frequencies, preferring another Focal model instead.

Price and sound wise, I think the Bathys is a better headphone from Focal. Much more flexibility in how they sound and to me the Lensys felt very thin and almost too metallic on the upper frequencies. I didn't pickup on the low end that everyone mentions in the reviews/write ups on these headphones.launch

great review! thanks! have been using them for the last 3 weeks and i'm amazed at how good they are! my lows are finally translating beautifully to all sources... i mix mostly jazz, classical and world music and was very skeptical about these headphones... upright bass and lower notes of a grand piano translate wonderfully well! great tool that is speeding my work a LOT! comfort is relative and for my big head i find the cups a bit little and only fit my head well at their maximum headband extension...other than that...super highly recommended! (by the way, i've used : DT1990, AUDEZE LCDX 2021, Sennheiser HD490 Pro, Sennheiser HD600, Neumann NDH-30, in the past) These focals beat them all by a huge margin! ...my two cents...launch
