Bought FiioKA5 yesterday. Sounds nice and definitely an upgrade over apple dongle. But on my iPhone Apple Music doesn’t stream hires lossless through KA5. Also drains the battery very fast. It is driving my 250ohms bayerdynamic without any issues\nUpdate: Apple Music hires lossless actually works on KA5. Just that not all hires songs are 192Khz in Apple Music and it’s hard to find one

Just got my Fiio KA5 in the mail today, bought it for $116 during Fiio's anniversary sale. Took me a while to figure out the volume buttons are reversed (in revelevance of the default screen orientation). I gotta thoroughly go through the manual to understand all the menu options. Not quite sure what the differce between AB or H work modes. Wish there was a Fiio Control app for macOS. With the new Macs, you can run iOS apps. Sadly, the Fiios Control app for iOS on macOS does not work. Anyways, I can finally use 4.4mm balanced headphones on the go. I love the included short lightning cable, fits perfectly in my pocket next to my iPhone.

I just purchased the KA5 and it’s a great DAC Dongle. My only issue is the Fiio Control App is not supported on iPhone. You can download the app but the KA5 is not in the compatible list of devices. 😠 That’s the only negative I have about the KA5. \n\nGreat review. 👍

I think it needs to be said that the FiiO app DOES NOT work the same on iOS as it does on Android. You can not change the filters or any other setting from any Apple device!

How is it possible that I changed my Fiio KA1 (using Sennheiser HD 620S) for the Fiio KA5, and it sounds quieter even with high gain? Literally the KA1 sounds better and with more gain, I think I made a mistake buying the KA5, I didn't expect this from a DAC amplifier that was supposedly much better than the KA1.

I wish this had MQA decoder. So many DAC/amp dongles have MQA decoders, even in FiiO's own lineup, a lot of which are cheaper than the KA5. I know some very loud and vocal audiophiles hate MQA but I use Tidal and use it frequently.

Very nice but according to my experience with all FiiO brand products, once the warranty period ends (what a coincidence!!!) they stop working and nobody takes responsibility for them, telling you to send them to China at your own risk to see if they can find any solution.
