They released a pre-recording but it’s quite picky about the voltage, looks like my transformer is not good enough for it and keeps dropping and disabling the pre record option. Which at this point makes it comparable to the S330 but with some additional light on top. Not really impressed. The motion detection is too slow in most of the cases you want have a good video and thumbnail if somebody is not staying in front of the camera for couple of seconds but not just tress passing.launch

My first one lasted about 4 months. Eufy sent me a new one but it takes videos of passing cars even though it's set to human detection only. It also takes videos and says package delivered or package picked up when there is no package and noone there to be detected. Now this one won't stay attached to it's base at the top. I'm calling them junk.launch

I just want to leave a comment here about my Eufy E340 doorbell. It SUCKS! It captures every car driving by despite setting up the Activity zones to exclude the street. It has missed virtually ALL package deliveries. It sometimes detects a package but never records the delivery driver approaching my house. Packages have only been detected maybe 20% of the time. The drivers are idiots and never ring the doorbell, they always put it in plain sight of all passersbys despite a large note telling them to put it to the side. I have NO IDEA why the doorbell cannot detect deliveries, only me and passing cars. It records EXACTLY what it shouldn't and is missing everything that it should record. Maybe the AI is dyslexic?? Now that the winter is here the lower angle of the sun is causing even more false events. Pretty big waste of money.launch

I have this and it misses people coming to my porch about half the time,especially if they just drop a package at the edge of the porch above the steps.If I set the sensitivity higher I get notified of cars going down the street and still it misses some people. My ring doorbell worked a lot better.Also the battery lasts about half as long.launch

I didnt get any update or anything and still delay is terrible. I have the battery version. For example today. I was sitting in the living room, someone ring the bell, my husband opened the door, worker came in and I after that I got notification. No wonder last time postman looked pissed that it took time from pressing the button to receiving a freaking response.launch

I have this cam and it rather sucks. The notification delay is real no matter the setting or wifi speed. Also it detects people really late. When people are moving at a normal walking pace they just show up mid frame all the sudden even though I have sensitivity and radar on max. The motion detection software or sensors must be really weak and subpar at this price. \nIf someone wants to steal a package, this won’t help except to confirm to you that a person did it. \nIt’ll record the person mid frame and alert you well after they left.launch

Currently, I use a Google nest doorbell.. I don't have a problem with a 10-second delay as sometimes it takes my Google as much as 10 minutes to send me a notification.. In fact, half the time, I don't get a notification when packages are left with Google.\n\n Secondly, saving $6 a month in monthly subscription fees makes this very appealing. As for the night vision, I have zero concerns there, as my porch and front yard are very well illuminated by a porch light as well as landscape lighting.launch

I had tons and tons of lag with the previous (current?…) Eufy model. 5 seconds to actually connect and start talking to a person at the door was the best case scenario. Also, communication lag was about a 1-2 seconds, if not longer. Logitech Circleview is way, way, way more responsive and works great with HomeKit Secure Video as well, I can answer from my watch AND even see realtime video, which is - AND THAT'S TOTAL BONKERS - actually lags less comparing Eufy-iPhone combination.. Logitech is not without its flaws (has a couple of times it stopping ringing my HomePods), but Eufy was hanging on being borderline unusable. Looking at this video and the video lag (comparing old and new models part), looks like the issue is still there. Wouldn't recommend, based on my first hand experience with the previous model and what I see in this review.launch

Eufy’s wired doorbell cameras do not have vehicle detection so you get hundreds of unnecessary video recordings per hour since you have to make it extremely sensitive to be able to capture all vehicles approaching. Eufy should have fixed this along time ago but they haven’t??? Why??? They don’t seem to understand necessary technology or minimum required technology in almost 2026. Vehicle detection is a must. Proper AI is a must. Eufy is very primitive.launch

Its not worth the upgrade from the S330 dual. It has the same resolution & response time delay. It needed to be 4K. Whilst the removable battery is useful to swap out when charging it drains too fast with the LED enabled. The AI recognition is a bit better on the E340, detecting pets for example. The audio has alot of background noise suppression compared to the S330. Also the blue ring light doesn't activate when it detects motion which it does on the S330, so when the lights turn on it makes it difficult to see where to press the bell. I haven't seen anyone test the pre-roll on the E340 which is a feature that only works when hardwired. If your internet goes down then the doorbell via the app goes offline too, altho the doorbell outside will ring & the footage will be recorded its just not viewable until the internet connection is back online. If you have a porchlight then the LED & colour night vision is of no use. On the E340 if you turn off the infrared you will get colour night vision when the porchlight activates. So its a bit of a gimmick.launch

It sounds muffled & doesn't pick up background noise as clear, while cars driving past sound like a rocket firing past. Eufy tell me they expect to roll out a firmware update in 2 weeks to fix it.\n\nColour nightvision only works if you have the LEDs turned on, not with Optimal Infrared Night Vision or Off settings. If you have a porch light you will get colour vision if you turn off the infrared top & bottom lights. When you use the LEDs you will get 2/3 weeks charge (will be less in winter), whereas i got over two months with the S330 during summer & just over a month in winter. \n\nThe Delivery Guard kept giving me false triggers in windy conditions esp when its facing plant pots & bushes that move in the wind. So i turned it off as next to useless. The activity zone doesn't have an ignore zone on the E340, you can only select the active area, so maybe the AI filters it out? \n\nThe Radar Zone sensitivity for each angle is not a feature on the E340. You can only select the sensitivity from 1 to 7 for all areas it covers. Setting it at maximum setting 7 can sometimes pick up movement from 22ft (6 meters) & other times it triggers at 7ft (2 metres). Somewhat inconsistent. \n\nThe 2K resolution is on par with the S330 with just slightly better infrared night vision. However the E340 camera is a little more zoomed out & the package view area is a bit smaller in pic in pic landscape mode.\n\nThe positives are the removable battery with a usb-c so i can swap them up & keep the doorbell on the door. No separate batteries are available yet. The LEDs are useful if lightning up a dark porch but expect to charge it more often. \n\nBut overall im not convinced its a worthwhile upgrade coming from the S330, maybe if it had 4K resolution. The on board 8GB memory isnt much use as i use the Homebase 3 for recordings where i added a 1TB SSD. Ill see how updates improve things.launch

Great review, thank you. Loving it so far, save for a couple of drawbacks (#2 may be a deal breaker for many):\n1. As others have mentioned my installed transformer wasn't powerful enough. I thought since it worked with my Ring it should work with this one too - wrong (Ring has a much wider range of voltage, but also a battery). I ended up replacing the transformer with a plug-in one.\n2. Cloud storage is NOT supported for this device, contrary to what this review says. They'll let you buy it in the app but once you go to select which device to apply it to this doorbell did not show up. Confirmed with Eufy support (getting a refund is a bit of a hassle too). So if you're concerned about it only recording locally, you'll need a backup camera that can record externally.launch

I have the wired version (it's been available in the US since early April) and unfortunately it comes with many of the same (and some new) flaws and limitations as the battery doorbell. No option for RTSP, slow camera startup on Google home devices, does not work with existing chime (though it comes with one that plugs in a wall socket). It's slightly smaller than the battery version and doesn't require the use of a base station.\n\nHome assistant support is not ready at the moment (for both battery and wired), but I have managed to get most functionality through some modifications to the Eufy Addon source code which I'll be contributing soon.launch

It's a dud! I purchased a new Homebase 3, 4 4K cameras and this doorbell thinking they are all compatible, but after spending hours trying to get the doorbell installed with any luck.\nWasn't until searching the internet I found that there's still no firmware for it yet. I was shocked. That's like buying a new car then finding that they haven't made an engine for it yet.\nI'm shocked Eufy, there should at least be a note on the box advising this.launch

I bought the Eufy Dual Doorbell 2K in February this year knowing that the software release was due in March 2023 so that the doorbell will then work with Homebase. 3. There's nothing worse than having two home bases and a doorbell that can't recognize familiar faces. I got an email today from Eufy stating that there will be no firmware update for this doorbell for the next 2 to 3 months. I, along with many other customers, would feel very let down with this new information.launch

I wished you would have addressed the issue of under-powered existing doorbell transformers in most homes. Since my Eufy wired 2k doorbell requires a 16v-24v, 30va transformer power to function, my existing old doorbell transformer didn't work. now I have to upgrade or purchase a separate transformer to power the Eufy.launch

I have one of these and I'm happy with it; I will say there is one tricky gotcha with the posts you mount the power wires to, you have to be REALLY careful wrapping the wire around the screw you torque down, there is only a very small conductive surface ring to connect to.. so, you can have the wires connected perfectly fine, posts tightened down, and no power to the unit. It's really hard to figure out this is the problem. Wrap your wire tightly around the post and tighten it down really tight, that helps.launch

I bought this doorbell as a upgrade from my eufyy 2k doorbell. Sadly it wasn’t an upgrade to me. The E340 don’t have 24/7 recording like my eufy 2k doorbell. I also can’t pair the E340 with my existing chimes from the eufy 2K which is ridiculous. Eufy making you buy new chimes for their doorbell is a ripoff when they could have easily made it work with their existing chimes that are placed throughout my home. Only good thing about the e340 is the second camera for package detection. Unfortunately I’ll be returning the E340 and sticking with my 2k doorbell a little longer.launch

I currently have the 2k single cam version works great but I was expecting to connect it to my Google home and have chime and video when someone is at the door. I was disappointed this functionality is not there despite stating on the box 'works with Google'. I have to ask Google to show me the doorbell..
