I've the T8S mixer for 4 or 5 years and it never gets hot indoors or out. I've ran it a good 6 to 8 hours. Maybe it's the small form factor on the T4S. Both the mixer and power pack don't get maybe barely warm. I have it mounted on a tripod stand so that it gets nice air flow.launch

I have had such terrible luck with these mixers (T4s) and have sent 3 of them back. No one can figure our what is going on with the Channel 2 crackling/static and low end hum. There could be nothing plugged into the input and the Global Preferences will show Channel 2 receiving and sending a signal. The signal becomes exponentially worse when the Phantom Power button is pressed. I've sent 3 back to Sweetwater with the same issue... then waited a couple months and tried again. This one is doing the same thing. Have you ever heard of anyone experiencing this, or better yet, know how to fix it?launch

OK, old retired tech here. If any box gets hot, it's going to fail. Step #1, see if you can screw on some stand off feet to get airflow under the case? Step #2, see if you can find some little push-in screens? If you can, pop the case off and drill some holes in the case and install the screens. Say 4 on each side and another 4 on the bottom. Air in, air out.\nOf course these mods will void your warranty, but once it's out of warranty it does not matter ... \nYou like the sound, so keep the machine in good shape as long as possible so you have that sound 😊launch

Bought a t8s and the USB audio keeps cutting out and it shows USB disconnected from time to time. What a shame Bose. Complete let down. To add it all up I have a bose l1 pro8 which the column is all plastic and it wobbles like nobodies business.launch

The included manual is called deeply inadequate, with diagrams not matching the actual unit, missing cables for firmware updates, and no clear explanation of effect controls or dB metering values on the interface.

Nice tutorial. I’d like to know more specific metering in my T4S since there are only line bars and no dB’s notified in compressor gr-metering and channel input metering. So what is dB between two lines in both metering?launch

I have a Bose L1 amp that was a bit boomy with my acoustic guitar. I purchased the T4S and was very disappointed. The booklet that came with the setup was deeply inadequate. The pictures that it portrayed were never the same as on my amp. In fact, the wire plugs that came with the T4S did not have a compatible outlet on my L1. So any shot at \"high density connection was lost as my only chance to connect the pre-amp with the amp was through a regular quarter inch connecting wire. Further, the new T4S said I would need to download information from the Bose website to bring it up to date, but they did not include the plug from computer to T4S. In fact, the picture that they showed of the connection was of a different USB connector than was acturally built into the T4S. Two hours later, I'm still not sure if anything was downloaded from the computer. The directions in the pamphlet that came with the T4S were horribly inadequate. No real descriptions of the effects knob /dial information and how the interface worked. On top of that, you can get an eq pre-amp for less than half the price that Bose charges. Whoever is making decisions about engineering compatibility at Bose is clueless.launch

Reverb is oddly set as a global effect while other effects are per-channel, which one user finds nonsensical. Another says effects quality is inferior to the older T1's audio engine, and reverb demonstrations are seen as lacking.

You will never get the quality effctswith the T4 or8 that you did with the T1. The T1 had a superior audi engine for effects .When Bose tried to cram all those other things in the box the effects suffered. Tht's the bootm lie. Bose scewed up!launch

So...why is reverb different? Why is it global while all other effects are not? You sound proud, earlier in the vid, (\"There's no sort of GLOBAL setting...\") that the device is capable of setting all the effects separately and sound almost apologetic that reverb is global. This makes absolutely no sense to me.. I've read excuses and ways to make up for it..but why do it at all?launch

A commenter notes Bose failed to include a foot control FX pedal input, which is essential for solo or duo artists who can't reach the mixer during performance to toggle effects.

I would have bought a ToneMatch years ago. and I waited to see if they would have considered solo artists and duo's who don't have a mixer to hand to turn off the FX channels. in all their wisdom they forgot to address the fact that for a lot of artists, a foot control FX pedal input control is essential. sorry but no salelaunch
