When you did the factory reset, does it reset the GPU BIOS as well? I have a sapphire 5600xt and I think it has the most up to date bios and I don't want to mess with the bios that works. I'm currently having an issue where red pixels are streaking across the monitor. Have tested on another monitor and with different cables HDMI, DP and is same issue, which is why i suspect it is the GPU or the driver. I plan to follow your video instructions and see if that helps, but yeah, does it mess with the GPU BIOS? Thank you.launch

So if I have the 5600 xt how do I determine if it has the latest BIOs update, and if it is overclocked, How do I know, and where can I see those settings ? With the Radeon software, in the tuning section, I just switched it to overclocked, and the VRam to overclocked is that all I will need to do ? It stats overclocked at 1690mhz , and for Vram is stats 1640mhz.... How can I determine whether the memory is at 14gbs ?launch

The problem is not all 5600 XTs may be able to handle the new memory speed bumps dictated by AMD to manufacturers. Meaning that some 5600 XTs (especially those that already went out the door to retailers validated at the pre-vBIOS upgrade specs) will not be able to be as good as what is considered “stock” that reviewers are promoting.launch

Hey when i install the driver for my Rx 5600 XT my pc crash and restart again and again, i have to go on safe mode to uninstall the graphic card and restart the computer to have windows opening without crashing but with the Microsoft Card in the peripheral manager\r... Can some one give me a tips or some thing ? i tryed to uninstall every driver and reinstall but its still not workinglaunch

Ugh...I tried switching to AMD graphics last year...NEVER AGAIN. The card was constantly pissing me off by randomly restarting my computer, no matter what I did with the card settings. I returned it a week later and went back to GeForce. >_>launch

Once you overclock both the 5700 and 2060 too (though everybody seems to forget overclocking exists on those cards), the 5600xt OC won’t look that enticing. Maybe the 1660 super OC is very close in perf for $50 less. AMD should have either kept the 8GB GDDR6 (even the crappy 5500xt has 8GB) or just priced it under $250 since it doesn’t have any advantages over the competitors.launch

my biggest worry is that crippled memory, last time around when \"next gen\" came it caught me off-guard with a 768mb 460 and it was a nightmare on all newer games running out of memory while equivalent amd cards with 1-2gb were getting by, not a nice experience anyhow but choking on memory is the worst thing ever, stuttery unplayable mess all around\n\nhow are we kidding bro, no one will do proper rt on real rt games with first gen rt hardwarelaunch

If you get this card don't bother with the BIOS update to boost the timings. Just stick the OE bios that the card was originally intended to come with. Just like any over clock you're playing the silicon lottery which means, if it works, great. Otherwise, you're left with a completely unstable GPU. I bought the PowerColor 5600XT and it actually came with the updated BIOS right out of the box. The benchmarks were impressive for the price, but the card just constantly crashed. And DxDiag started throwing up errors that there was an underlying instability in the video card and to check the voltages on the GPU. The last minute update to the core clocks just didn't give the card manufacturers time to fully qualification test the board hardware and insure the product they were sending out the door is going to actually work as advertised.launch

Even itself, i just read an article which says the 5600 has a beta bios and the new \"overclocked bios\" its in beta state too, but the last OC bios has not been validated by the AIB´s so they cant garantee 0 flaws due to the new bios, but thats not the worst, they had to modify the TDP from 135w to 150w and the ceiling for boost clock from 1725mhz to 1820mhz so blue screens and stuttering its likely to happen, to top it up the initial powercolor 5600 xt red dragon eliminated a heat pipe to save production costs and because of the low TDP does not have to use it but because of the new bios it can overheat or have temperature issues at least because of this modification, so, if you want this card you should wait for the second batch of cards so AIB´s can validate the cards.launch

The thing I see with a lot of Radeon fans is they buy the latest card they can get for $200-300 because \"price to performance.\" If you bought a 1080 in 2016 for just over twice the price of 5600 XT, you'd have better performance for four years, plus similar performance and features for another couple years. Price and performance are only two dimensions. Time is the third. How long are you keeping the card? With DXR being implemented fully in the lifespan of the card you buy today, do you really want something without hardware acceleration for it?launch

Lacking VRS, ray tracing and HDMI 2.1 makes many cards on the market a poor choice with how close we are with the next gen of consoles and for me, if you can hold out, wait till later this year before upgrading because I don't see many of these cards on the market ageing well once the next gen are out, but if you are the kind of person that plan to upgrade again shortly after the new consoles are out then fill your boots lol, it's a pretty decent card if not a little overpriced for what it is.launch

I was just commenting on the Linustechtips video the other day that I don't want to go upgrading my GPU now unless it is to include hardware ray-tracing, which is where we're headed. AMD is late to that game, although naturally their card is great for what it does outside of RT, especially at that price. I know those guys don't care about ray-tracing because it's not used widely yet, but it is the future of gaming, whether they like it or not.\n\n\nIf I'm gonna future proof my PC, I'd rather wait till the next gen of graphics card from both manufacturers, as AMD will probably be on the RT bandwagon by then and NVidia will have refined their work even further. So AMD not only crippled these cards before launch heavily, because of Nvidia they had to restore it to basically being a RX 5700 with less VRAM and bandwidth. I feel like Nvidia is still holding back, I was expecting more from Radeon but I guess theur sucess isn't to the same degree as the Ryzen team. I wish that they will make a comeback but nothing has pulled me away from Nvidia yet to justify a purchaselaunch

Thanks yet again for all your hard work and honesty...\nThis all kind of pisses me off. We have companies that are supposed to be competing basically creating pricing tiers that shouldn't really exist thus avoiding competition. They are doing this by gimping their own products and this just goes to further prove that that is exactly what's happening. I wonder when if ever they'll get back to giving their customers the best they can create without these manufactured tiers? Then maybe we can get cards that are doing exactly what they're capable of. Which is much higher performance by simply changing to a BIOS that is what it should have used in the first place. Also if they didn't gimp memory bandwidth/size as well simply to limit a cards performance. I'm probably dreaming at this point and being a Customer not a Consumer apparently means little these days...launch
