Yeah...they have some catch up> particuarly, sleep tracking seems to still be off and step count which is quite off compared to Garmin and Apple watch ( the ones I tested). I wish they wil come with an Active 3, maybe 1 mm larger ( 45) max and imporved sensors while keeping everythiing identical ( maybe a crown). I want a smartwatch that looks and feels like a regular watch with premium materials and a good battery life ( so no, not Montblanc and not Tag Heur). Garmin are pretty good but they don't either a watch that is truly beauitful ( Venu 4 in silver is close, but not that close).launch

The Active Max, looks interesting.... but my first Amazfit device was the Active2 and I ran into a lot more software jankyness. If I didnt already have the Active2, I would go with the Active Max for like $70 more. Sad to hear that they are still having sleep tracing issues. The mapping on Active Max looks interesting... but I would probably go with a different device for better mapping.launch

This is something that frustrates me a little about Amazfit. I really think their smartwatches are pretty solid and well made, which does make good bang for the buck. For me it's not a hardware problem(well, it is..but not in quality) it's software. Personally, i think they are pushing out hardware too frequently, and so their software focus is not as strong as it should be.launch

They should fix their software, hardware is already okay. Trying to do a strength training in this watch is a pain. You can't see all data during the rest between sets! Feels like they never even tested it. Adding a custom training routine is just impossible. The list of exercises is from another planet, and adding a rest after each set manually? They are useless. Not even mentioning their crazy thousands of calories spent every workout.launch

Outside of extra battery life, this doesn’t seem to provide anything above the sub 100 Active 2. Both are not bad watches, I tried the active 2 and was pretty good (I always use an external hr monitor) however I wouldn’t buy this without Dual Band gps. The sub 100 Active 2 is perfectly find with single band gps. If this had multi band - I’d probably buy it.launch

I have the opportunity to regularly check the Active 2 GPX files against the Instinct 3 files comparing some MTB segments tracking in Strava and the Amazfit's files are mostly just simply useless. Not overlapping good enough, sometimes not matching the segments even remotely, with random time results that just have nothing to do with the actual rider performance. Don buy this device if you want reliable tracking in the woods or any difficult terrain. Do yourself a favor and buy something with multi band GNSS for that kind of task.launch

I recently bought an Amazfit Active 2. It does everything I want it to and unwrapping from the box was pleased to find it is not bulky. My only issue is I cannot change the recorded workouts on the Zepp App to Speed rather than Pace. I was brought up on km/min not minutes per km. I don't believe it can be changed, unless someone can advise. My wife's Bip 6 is km/min.launch

I recently tried the Amazfit Active 2 for pool swimming, and I’m impressed with its distance detection. It accurately tracked my 600-meter swim. Compared to my previous Garmin watches, this one is definitely a step up. However, it does have a downside: it only has two buttons, forcing us to use the touchscreen to navigate between different screen fields. And as we know, that touchscreen is a disaster in the water, just like all touchscreens.launch

Thank you for such detailed review! Got my today and unfortunately I'm returning it - the reason is it has a nickel frame and side button color instead of dark black or gray. I have my old GTS 3 witch is single color (metal gray) and it looks stylish and small on the hand. Why Amazfit Active designer decide to implement nickel frame that makes it look cheap no idea. On all photos it does not look that way :(launch

This model is sadly basically pointless, as long as the Balance 2 XT exists, which is basically priced the same. The normal Balance 2 is also not that much more expensive anymore. Where I live it has been priced at 230 € since before Christmas, with the XT model basically matching the Active Max' MSRP. There is just no point to this one unless it moves towards 100 € in the coming months, since the Balance 2 XT offers dual-band GNSS, eight times the internal memory, more sports profiles and a digital crown over it, while basically having no objective downsides.launch

Any issues with polarized sunglasses? The Bip 6 display was completely black when I used my polarized sunglasses. It’s an issue with polarization orientation. So, to see the screen, I had to turn my arm to a really awkward uncomfortable position. Reviewers never mention these things, but Garmin and other manufacturers (Apple, Samsung, Google) don’t have this issue.launch

As an FYI - I wear polarized sunglasses all the time and the premium's sapphire crystal is a bummer to look at. It's not the typical dimming interaction where rotating the device clears it up. At just about any angle some portion or another of the watch screen will be dim, distorted, or no longer visible. So there's no \"sweet spot\" angle I can acclimate to. Since my sunglasses are prescription it's not as simple as me just using another pair of non-polarized glasses when on bike rides. I'm seriously thinking of downgrading to the standard and just risking more scratches or a using TPU screen protector. I can live without NFC or the leather band.launch

Compared to the surprisingly well feature packed Amazfit Balance this watch is a pretty big step backwards. I don't know how anyone at these chinese smart watch brands can think pairing an external heart rate monitor isn't necessary in 2024. This missing feature was the reason number 1 for me switching to a brand that supports this inexpensive and easy to implement feature!launch
