Looks like an big improvement over my h4n pro but it has 140 db mics however having to set the recording levels to prevent clipping gets tedious. Sounds like the H6 essentials recorder plus 1 terrabite capability plus all the added features makes it way more versatile. I do use direct imputs off a PA for the best recording sound. The H6E Bluetooth phone remote is a huge plus as with the H4N Pro I have the wired remote and have to get up on stage to work the controls while playing dodge with the musicians.

You state at the outset that these recorders use dual A/D converters but this is not entirely true. Firstly, Zoom do not claim that the H1e uses dual converters at all, either on their website nor in the manual for the device. I don't know why you think that it does have dual converters. They do claim that the H4e uses dual converters on their website but in the manual, which many buyers may only read after purchase, they state \"On the H4essential, only the INPUT 1 and INPUT 2 jacks have dual A/D converter circuits.\" So the 3.5mm jack does not record true 32 bit float and possibly the mics do not either. The H6e seems to claim full dual a/d converter implementation on the website and in the manual.\n\nWhy does this matter? Well, without dual converters the single converter simply stores 24 bit audio in a 32 bit float container, which does not provide any improvement in dynamic range. It's like using a 1080p camera sensor to record into a 4k file and calling it a 4k camera. \n\nA company like yours should be able to get definitive answers from Zoom on this. I'd be interested in their response.
