Really liking the videos. While I was originally focused on comparing different brand specs, after hearing this demo I am sold on the Clavinova purely for the tone. The only question for me now os the 725 or 735.\nAlso… WHAT SONG IS THAT? It’s amazing.

I just bought the Yamaha clp 725. I’ve been playing piano for years and now live on my own. It perfect for me because I’m a student on a budget and still want a real piano feel and sound. I don’t need to record much or a whole bunch of different sounds and I’ll be playing with headphones most of the time. Thank you for making the videos. I definitely recommend trying different instruments in a music store before buying 😊

20:07 The discussion on \"Split Mode\" is actually about \"Duo Mode\", which is indeed on the CLP-725. Duo Mode allows two players to play the instrument over the same octave range. Split Mode is for one player to play two different voices, one with each hand.

Thanks gentlemen! Does the S in GrandTouch-S stand for Short or for Small? @patrick: the 725 does have MIDI over USB (7:57, 19:32), and it also does have both audio input and audio output over USB (8:46, 19:32). Also Split mode is indeed there (20:07) - see page 23 of the user manual. Also whilst it doesn't have USB to device - you don't need that as you can record directly over USB Audio (e.g. using free software like Audacity) So perhaps clarify those points, as the 725 does have a robust feature set. Even the ancient P-125 has all of those features!\nIf you're looking at the Clavinova models, I recommend you try the 725 (all you need as a beginner for 3 years), 745 (better amps and speakers for rooms larger than 200 square feet / 30 square metres - good for intermediate/casual players), and 785 (even more speaker power and better quality piano samples - good for advanced players). Then only after that set your budget and make your choice. All three models are great pianos.

Bought the 725 a month ago.. Should of kept saving for the 735, because the ivory feel is pretty shit feels more glossy than anything and yeah as you said the action is a little light. But as a beginner my technique ain’t the best yet, Actually preferred the P45 action cause it felt heavier. I guess learning wise its probably better to go from this lighter action to then eventually a heavier action on a more expensive piano.
