I use the Mixcast with 3x Zoom ZDM-1 Mics, but there is an absoule white noise in the Background always! The Mics are hissing like Carzy. Any Idea what can I do against it?launch

I have had the Tascam for a few months now with no issue. A friend joined me and he has a loud booming voice. His mic keeps cutting out when he gets excited about what we are dicusssing. We have tried multiple mics , no sound suppression , no peaking gain is properly set for his mics. No one’s else’s mic is cutting out. Is there a limiter or a setting I’m missinglaunch

Mike. It’s too bad these reviews stay online so long. I bought the TASCAM and sent it back. The software no longer works with the Macs because it hasn’t been upgraded to accommodate the software changes. In essence this system has been orphaned and should be taken of the market.launch

I've bought it and I'm almost totally happy.... The Audio Delay acts like a delay pedal. It just doubles my voice no matter the setting between 0-2000ms. There's a similar function in Atem Mini Pro and that works great. The drawback with sending the audio from Mixcast to Atem and then livestream or record - is that there are several stages of gaining added in the Atem, and that adds to the overall noise. Tascam has lousy support, it's like you're trying to reach the President of US..launch

Users repeatedly ask for a monitor mix and specifically miss an auto-mute-monitor function present on the Rodecaster Pro, which prevents feedback whistle when engaging mic faders; one user said this omission alone stopped them from buying.

all 13 nice functions, but one necessary functions stopped me from get it. That is the Auto mute monitor (when engage mic fader) function. We all have speakers/monitors in our setup. when we are not talking to the mic, we all enjoy use the speaker monitor to monitoring on the program. But how many time did you forget to turn off your speaker monitor before you engage the mic fader, and then get a crazy whistle. that will jam up your recording. I know you can post edit that, but how much trouble you have to go though. When you can just have this simple little function turned on like the old time radio station analogue mixing table. I thought Tascam should understand the importance of this functions from the radio work flow. But yet this function is missed. On the other side, Rode Caster pro has this function, which is critically needed by pod casters, and Rode listens. I have talked to the Tascam rap, they said they will look into it, but never got any feedback. I am not sure if my though has gone anywhere. but a month and a new firmware upgrade later, this function still hasn't been added. I am not sure about you, but I can't use this fancy thing with out this auto mute function. it will make my pod cast workflow so messy, because every time I open faders, I need to check the monitor volume. ( think about how many time do you turn on/off your fader during a show) You will what I mean! I guess If Tascam doesn't add this functions, Tascam is really pushing me to Rode caster pro. If you are getting the same concern, please support me, Let's help Tascam develop the best Pod cast mixer together!launch

Several users wanted a dedicated master output unaffected by monitor volume to feed a radio transmitter, and were disappointed the Line Out didn't function this way, limiting its use as a standalone broadcast mixer.

It is really, really stupid by Tascam to forget/ignore/down-prioritize such a basic feature!\n\nAlso - question to Mixcast 4 owners out there... Can the \"Line Out\" work as a true master output from the mixer? Not affected by monitor volumes etc..? The manual says something about a \"Line Out\" setting - that resets itself at boot-up..?! I would like a modern digital mixer to use for ordinary radio broadcasting needs - so I need an analog line-level \"Master Out\" from the mixer to send to my transmitter. It seems most/all of these podcast mixers (Rodecaster etc.) only provides the master output via USB to a computer. I got my hopes up when I saw \"Line Out\" on the Mixcast 4, but I fear it's not what I'm looking for... :(launch

Very good walkthrough, thank you. I'll have to complain about the USB Delay that Tascam Mixcast 4 claims to postpone the audio from the unit - all in order to sync with video signal for live broadcasting or recording. I have the latest firmware in my Mixcast 4 and all USB Delay does is it acts as a... delay pedal for the guitar. It adds another \"me\" and the speed of that depends on how many ms I assign. I've tried _everything_, from 2-3ms to 240-260ms (which usually works great in Rogue Amoeba Audio Hijack app), but the Mixcast only doubles by voice/words, whatever I say. I've gone through the manual and I can't see I'm doing anything wrong...launch

I love it ! Wish it had a limiter. I’m to much of a noob to know if a hardware limiter can simply be added to an audio chain like a cloud lifter is added. Or if a daw out there exists that can preset a limiter and limit clipping in real-time but this may be my choice over the rodecasterlaunch

I just ordered this device so I'm eager to learn and put it to work. The one feature I have not seen on any review is the ability to PAN a channel input Left or Right. The Combo XLR are great but without a PAN you can't use it to mix a band. More specific to my use case is I want to put cameras with sound inside a fighting ring and use those camera mics for action sounds from the fighters. Being able to PAN will help pull audience in so sounds that are seen on the screen on the left are heard in the left speaker. Does the Tascam Mixcast 4 have the ability to PAN left or right any of the inputs?launch

The hardware is locked to a single 48kHz sample rate, a limitation shared with several competitors but still frustrating for one user hoping to use it as a primary audio interface.

I thought this thing was great and was going to make it my primary audio interface, but there’s a problem. It’s hardware is fixed at one sample rate 48k. I did some research and it seems that all of these things Rode, Zoom, Tascam, even the Boss is single sample rate only. The ASIO driver for the Tascam seems to do some real time conversion but not automatically switch the clock.launch
