Hmmm... I don't think the lack of knobs per channel is minor. It's actually kept me from buying one of these. Not because of the sends, but because panning is so much easier and better if you can turn a couple of knobs at a time. I really, really want not only a fader, but also a pan pot per channel.\n\nGreat vid.launch

Don't Presonus get it? As everyone here says what's the point in getting this if there are no individual pan pot knobs. All analogue mixers have this, you need to have volume faders and pan knobs for each channel to make a complete overview of the mix. There is a screaming hole in the daw controller market for this.launch

Users on Cubase and Logic report tracks not chasing selection, mismatched channel colors, limited multi-select, and reliance on outdated MCU/HUI protocol, calling the experience frustrating outside Studio One.

So you can only select channel in Cubase that are within the bank selected. Which means if you have 300 tracks you could end up switching multiple times to get to the track 250 for example? Can you confirm? I guess you don't do large project like that Chris?launch

The Faderport is a cool idea, but it really just doesn't work all that well with any other daw except Studio One. The fact that it doesn't chase the selected tracks, half the buttons don't do what they say, the channel \"select\" lights don't match the track colors and you not being able to select multiple tracks at once just makes it not great. I feel like this is mostly because of the very outdated MCU/HUI protocol which is still used in these for some reason.\nThat said Neyrinck are doing something very cool with the Faderports for Pro Tools, where it completely integrates with the software like the Avid S-series. Such a thing would be great for cubase... Though I really wish it just supported EuCon or the Cubase native protocol like the CC121 or Faderport 1 v1.\n\n-A very disappointed and frustrated faderport user.launch

One question (maybe I missed that): if you have the first bank selected (1-16) and let’s say you select channel 30 in Cubase will the bank update on the fadeport or do you have to manually click on the bank select buttons to get there? Every Mackie Controller I’ve tried up to this point seems to have this limitation, is it the same with Faderport? Love these series!launch

Bought the Faderport because of the good explanation of this guy. Unfortunately I can't get it to work on my (up to date) Mac and Logic Pro X, even though I set both the input and output to Faderport 16.launch

Hi! I have Faderport 8 and Cubase 10.5 along with Studio One 4.6 and ai have connected my faderport, but ai can't get the name of it in Cubase. Seems like it doesn't recognise it. I only seeing \"USB MIDI\" in midi input and output. I can't really get it to work properly.launch

please...someone tell me ho to dis-engage the bi directional communication between Logic x or the servo motors! I use the faderport 16 with Logic to automation- control aux(bus) sends . It was working fine at first until I became aware that the faders, not only are making a racket on play back, I also encounter the Faderport faders \"fighting\" with me as I enter realtime automation data on the fly! While I try to mix fades on one channel, Logic is moving the Faders and if I take my finger off a given fader after entering a bus send level ...POOF...it snaps to back down to either zero value or up to full 127! Any comments?launch

Users argue the 16 is essentially two banks of the 8 yet costs roughly double, with scribble strips barely improved, making it feel overpriced for what it offers.

You're the only one who stated that the scribble strips are more or less the same as the 8. Thanks for that because I couldn't find any info about the strips anywhere else. That's a big deal because the scribble strips are pretty poor on the 8 and that's the one place I thought presonus would have improved them for the 16. It makes my decision easy as I wasn't sure if the 16 was worth twice the price as all it really is, is just another bank of faders so there's no reason the price should double. At best this should be $750-$800. It's not really two fader 8s (as that would have two sets of transport controls) so it's a bit overpriced for what it is. I'd only be willing to pay the $1000 if the scribble strips were improved.launch

The scribble strips are hard to read unless leaning directly over them, and are reportedly no better than on the FaderPort 8 despite the higher price.

Users wish the unit could be rack mounted for professional studio setups but note it's roughly half an inch too wide for standard rack equipment and no rack kit is documented.

Had mine for about a year now and I love it. Just wish it was rackmountable due to me tryna find upgrades for a new desk. Nonetheless, I’m able to control all my DAWs plus plugins with it and when shopping for a DAW controller I initially thought it was something I didn’t necessarily need but now I can’t work without it plus I got all I need with paging up and down 16 faders for a fraction of what I would’ve paid for other controllers. Presonus did they thing in my opinionlaunch

Can the FaderPort 16 be rack mounted? According to the dimension specs it is 19 1/2\" wide.....so just 1/2\" wider than other rack mount equipment. Wondering if they had a rack mount kit or other way to rack mount it? Can not find anything online or on Presonus website about rack mount capability.launch

Solo and mute buttons are described as too small and fiddly, and faders aren't numbered, making it hard to quickly identify which physical fader corresponds to which channel.
