I have the TZ100, and I think it's an excellent camera. I recently filmed a short hotel review with it on my YouTube channel because I had a problem with my main camera. It did really well. I also use the TZ100 for stop motion animation and time-lapses. The 4k video is good, and the one inch sensor is superior to mobile phones and most other compact cameras which mostly have the same size sensor as mobile phones. I recently bought a Panasonic G80 which I'm happy with, but the TZ100 is so conveniently small I leave it in my coat pocket all the time.launch

I love this camera. It is pocketable. I take it everywhere I go. As long as you know it's limitations and strengths you will get some nice photos. I don't do any post processing and am very happy with the photos. The black and white photos are outstanding. Thanks for this review about a camera that most people don't speak about.launch

Just got a like new set 3 days ago. Lens not the best. Its more of lacking in contrast than sharpness. And 1 inch sensor makes a difference . Even iso 800to1600 is usable compare to 1/2.3 sensor compacts. The fun of looking thru a viewfinder(thiught very small and switch to 60hz refresh the raibow tearing is gone.)still best looking at screen on hp to take shot. At iso125..image is really good. Absolutely love itlaunch

I did a comparison with lumix gx9+140mm and I was impress with tz100 image quality in low light, almost the same detail at 250mm, suffers a bit in color accuracy and dinamic range, wide open performs great, I think its near a m43 system with decent light in an impressive small package. I wasnt impress with autofocus in video, Im not sure why sometimes starts hunting in a 180 pan even in daylight. The 2x digital zoom and even 4x can help to read something in the 1000m territory but I would stick to the 250-500mm for extreme usable zoom. At 250mm its very useful for birds that come close. The tz200 can give more zoom but loses aperture turning it hungry for more light and the bokeh effect its more difficult to achieve. Price is a bit high but can do great things for a pocket camera.launch

Cute little girl - and nice dad is being a part of everyday life - awesome - mom needs a break now and then - \n\nso a fitting review - small camera - small human :) \n\ngot my ZS100 few weeks back - \n\nI simply can say I love it - yes there is no perfect camera - and I think there will be a half case for it later or glue leather - much like I got for my original Sony RX100 - the ZS100 feels much safer in the hand then the RX100/m2/3/4 - but of course it depends on persons hands size etc - but if one thinks it is slippery then just get a leather patch and clue on front - \nAlso I think folks criticize the EVF size to much - sure it is small and not fair to compare to say a M43 camera or the A6000 for example - \nI have the Sony RX100m4 and yes EVF view a bit larger but then again I really worry about the pop up as it feels delicate to me - I have no issue with the ZS100 EVF - these EVF's are to cover you for those super sunny moments - 95% of the time one uses the LCD on this type of a small camera - I have no worry about the EVF in the ZS100 being delicate - \nYes the RX100m4 is nice in many ways - but also much more money - at least $250 - but also not quite in the same category as it is only 24-70mm - vs 25-250mm - \nso one does well to own both - \nI also have the Canon G7X and G3X - both are good - but I find the image quality in the RX100m4 and ZS100 better - \nI get really frustrated with the 4k in the Sony RX100m4 as it overheats in 3min in warm weather and it is out for 4k recording for some time - and of course Max 5min - verses my ZS100 has never overheated even in warm weather and is good for 15min clips - one after another - I really think Sony did scam users with the 4K on the RX100m4 - I think most users are just as good with the RX100m3 which is cheaper and has just as good IQ but of course no 4k - but like I said much cheaper - Sony fans are better to wait for RX100mv for usable 4k past 3-5min - \n\nThe ZS100 really fits well in an all-around travel camera - the digital zoom yields decent results so one can stretch a bit on the zoom - \n\nI highly recommend the ZS100launch

The 25-250mm zoom is called practical and versatile, with i-Zoom and digital zoom extending reach to 500mm or even 1000mm without major quality loss according to users. Some specifically bought the camera because of its longer zoom compared to competitors.

Were'nt magazine cover photos shot at minimum 7mp back in the day? I wonder if it is still at that rate? I lost my Canon G9x that was even smaller but like the sony rx100 only a 3x to 4 soom and thats the 1 thing I always wanted on my Japan trip was a longer zoom so this Lumix Leica mix camera is the perfect replacement and I just bought one today and I can only say WOW that zoom is PERFECT. I am officially Done shopping now...launch

I just purchased this camera and chose it over the LX10 really because of the zoom. I assume I can zoom to a good portrait focal length which some experts have said is in the 90 to 100 mm range (where the LX10 stops at 70). Cant wait to try the burst modes. This will be my first camera other than an iphone in years.launch

don't forget you can double the zoom range to 500mm with the i-Zoom with no loss of picture quality. Also adding the digital zoom which is pretty good compared to some, that takes it to 1000mm :-)launch

I have this camera and have used it for many of my YouTube videos. I use other cameras too, but the TZ100 has many useful features such as time-lapse and animation. The 4k video is good and it's such a convenient camera to carry about it your pocket. Probably my favourite camera to use.launch

I want to use it for Astro if anyone has suggestions for that application. I have a 4.5 inch Newtonian and some other homemade telescopes.launch

After a couple of years i think the 10x zoom is greatly over exaggerated. With the softness of the lens above 120mm i dont use it often. The features and customization this camera offers is what makes it so great. As he stated post focus and 4k are reallyvhelpful. You really have to get this camera dialed in to your preferences to appreciate it. Forget sooc, you got to set the sharpness, noise reduction , contrast etc. to your liking. I found this out on a dpreview forum. It kept me from returning the camera. Its not perfect, but its a pretty good shooter. Lens stabilization is really god also. If only it had a global shutter.launch

l bought this little cam specifically for concert photography. It is small, not flashy, and I took it to Guns N Roses in Vegas. It did ok, but obviously nowhere close to m43 results I had had before in same time of event. But they will always let you in with it. As for video, Jordan did not mention it but I read somewhere that 5 Axis Image Stabilization only works for 1080P mode, not in 4K mode, so the 1080p handheld image would be more stable. Good thing about 4K video is that your zoom gets extended to 370mm at tele end so it was of a benefit to me at the concert.launch

It's as good now as it was when it came out, and can be purchased today for less than £350 New, making it a bargain.\nNo other 1inch sensor camera on the market offers an evf at this price point.\nThe upgraded tz200 offers a longer zoom but at the cost of a slightly slower lens.\nThere's always trade offs.. not the best for low light, but better than any smart phone or smaller sensor camera's that can cost almost as much.\nStill have mine, blazing fast autofocus in good light, better than most of its competitorslaunch

I have had this camera since 2016 and I have used it for my overseas holiday and actually used it as a backup camera on commercial photography jobs and the photos have been used in corporate marketing and look absolutely perfect. My normal work camera is a Canon 1DX and I have found the Lumix camera to be a valuable asset in the kit as a back up unit and of course it’s an absolutely fantastic holiday travel camera.launch

nice review - yes the ZS100 is a an awesome travel camera - yes the Sony RX100m3/4 might do a bit better in low light - but $950 so $250 more and the 4k is worthless as the RX100m4 overheats in warm weather at 3min and has a 5min max 4k per clip and after one 3-5min clip you have to wait and wait for it to cool down - while the ZS100 has no heating problem what so ever - \nThe 25-250mm range is super practical - I find the sensor do super well - I do have the Sony RX100 and RX100m4 and the Canon G7X and G3X all with the one inch sensor - to me the RX100m4 and the ZS100 have the best IQ - I am amazed how well the ZS100 does in low light as the lens is not as bright as that of the RX100m/2/3/4 and the G7X - they control the noise super super well - \nI love how Panasonic have put in all the features of the GX series in the ZS100 - the timeless - the 4K modes and the post focus - all the filters and sense modes and the super nice Touch LCD and the Soft FN keys - the ZS100 is just loaded with good stuff - \n\nOnly thing I wished it had was a Flip LCD - but hopefully in next update - but otherwise a brilliant little cameralaunch

nice review as always thanks as always - I got my ZS100 few weeks back - if I understood you right , you said there was no Touch To Shoot - or Touch Shutter - There is - it can be turned on from LCD option on the right in LCD - there are 3 options Fn on bottom and then a Less then arrow - it is inside there what impresses me very much is how Panasonic has but all the nice features from higher end models into this little body including Touch to focus and Touch To shoot - many Fn buttons including Soft Fn buttons - \nYes EVF is small - but hard to expect much in such a small body - yes my RX100m4 has a bit larger EVF but i worry about delicate mechanism to pup up and of course it overheats in 4K in warm weather at 3min and has max 5min recording - \nSo rather frustrating - I also have the Canon G7X - which I like for the 24-100mm F1.8-2.8 and it has touch shutter - but I find the IQ better in the Sony RX100m4 - images are a bit sharper - to me the Images from the Panasonic ZS100 are very nice - just as nice as from the RX100m4 - I am very impressed with ISO performance at 1600 and 3200 for such a small camera - it was a surplice to me - colors are really vivid and nice - yes the 4 way buttons are a bit small - and will be an issue for those with very big hands - but of course for those with very big hands any tiny camera will be an issue :) \nI am just happy it has EVF - in such a small camera one typically always uses the LCD except in super sunny days - so I think it is ok - I am very impressed with the processor speed - how quick it processes 4K bursts for example - and 4k video - just really nice - \nYes I would like to see a different texture on body - and hopefully 3rd party makers will make a leather to glue on - like I did with my RX100 :) made it look cool and it gives it a better grip - The other wish, a tilt LCD - \nbut besides those to - would like to have - it is just a fantastic little travel and all-around camera - yes I still sometime carry my RX100m4 or G7X in the other coat pocket if light is not so good - but I think Panasonic did a really nice job with the ZS100 - I have not gotten my ZS100 to overheat, Sony you need to talk to Panasonic :) and Canon should talk to Panasonic on features and nice menu - I think Canon could do so much better with their G7X as far as features \n\nThe 4k image modes are fantastic - so is Post Focus and the many very nice art modes / scene modes - \n\nNow we just need Panasonic would make another body same size with 24-100mm F1.8-100mm -launch
