I listened to it through my HD 800 headphones connected to my RME ADI 2 Pro Se and I only hear minimal differences, which shows me that this device is definitely not worth $10,000 if you ask me. I wouldn't even spend $2,000 on a device like that, no joke. Nevertheless, thank you for taking the trouble and publishing the video on YouTube. You saved me a lot of money, thank you again.launch

You spend the means to get improved sound. How much of an improvement you get for what you spend is up to you to quantify. In the old days, gear like Neve was miles ahead; you really heard the differences. Lately, everything out there sounds pretty good and you have to listen to details and think in terms of how your body reacts to the sound to qualify differences. In my case, I’d be buying the satellite along with the Centerpiece so I wish there would have been an example of them working in tandem. You guys are doing great work here. Thank you.launch

Interesting piece of kit, but pricey. For the money you will get neve sound and neve quality (many, many, many years of service), but still overpriced. \n\nEssentially its a mixer, daw controller, interface , monitor controller. All might be separate pieces, each costing less, but require setup, fiddling , your time basically.\n\nMy list is:\n1. Mixer - spirit folio sx. I find that sound of spirit's preamps and eqs barks nicely. Good for agreasive dance music or rock, where sound on/off sounds dominate. Not that good for ppp strings (noise floor).\n\n2. Interface. Pick whatever you like, or better the best you can afford. Good pieces will last you a lifetime, but cost accordingly. Apollo or UAD for lifetime. Scarlett or behringer for lowenders and upgrade in couple years.\n\n3. Daw controller. \nToxic topic. Bcf2000 or bcr 2000 as cheapest motorized faders/rotaries. \n\nI suggest using ableton push/2. I know its limited to ableton, but I really think its worth it. The only piece of hw/sw integration era that left me wanting to get back to it and fiddle some more. \n\n4. Monitor controller. \nMackie big knob is a classic. Behringer control2 is cheaper knockoff. Presonus monitor station is alternative. \n\nAgain, if all the elements are up to standart, you buy mogami cabling, you buy furniture/racks to house everything you're easily 5-6k in. \n\nIn the end it might make sense to use neve 5060 if it fits your studio and you use like 95% of features. If you're working everyday, buying lowend stuff is reality, but you keep repairing stuff over and over and over... low end is not robust for pro use, unfortunately.launch

I have interest in this unit, I wished you guys removed the transport control section and added 4 extra faders. There absolutely no need for USB connection with computer just for the transport, most of people would have their keyboards and mouse in front of unit...\r I am also not a big fan of sacrificing 4 inputs so we can have mono, there could be an option to route those inputs elsewhere.launch

The only thing I don´t like is the decision to sacrifice 4 channels if you wanna the faders to be mono. Better to remove the transport control, no need for that since you would have a keyboard right in front of the unit. So, ditch the transport control section and add extra 4 faders, this way there is no need to sacrifice 4 channels. Then if you want to use the faders in stereo, add a button to link the faders so only one controls both inputs.launch

I think the eight channels are supposed to represent the group stage before summing. So why would they include a mono switch? Maybe people use it for other purposes like applying outboard to channels and rerecording to the daw. But yes, pan pots would have been a brilliant addition. I have seen a few illustrations where they encourage the use of two 5059 satellites before the 5060, which do have pan pots and individual inserts. But, there's another $10K for two 5059 satellites.launch

A couple of listeners felt the sonic difference was minimal through their reference monitoring chain, or that the saturation was excessive and lacking open high end, concluding it doesn't match true high-end consoles like the 5088.

I don't think it sound very high quality at all, the saturation is too much and I miss the open high end in the mix, for me the only console i would ever want is the 5088. I understand Neve tries to get gear into the entry market but is just isn't how the great consoles sound at alllaunch

Looks beautifully made, but to me, it looks like a huge work flow speed bump compared to the system you currently have with the Apogee Symphony. Recall is something that’s very hard to live without in 2018, because clients expect you to quickly make tweaks on work in progress. You can’t do that with non-programmable gear. Also, what’s the deal with the fan in that thing? Why would you want a fan making noise so close to your mix position? Looks like you’ve got lots of delivery trucks in the neighborhood. Pack it up and get it on one of those. ;)launch
