Multiple users described the Chu 2 DSP's sound clarity and detail retrieval as amazing or impressive, noticing details in songs they hadn't caught before. Buyers using it with OnePlus and other Android phones called the sound quality mind-blowing. After a burn-in period of several hours to two days, several commenters said performance improved further, moving 'to another level' compared to fresh out of the box.

The Moondrop Link app enables EQ tuning but has real limitations. The companion app lets users adjust EQ and DSP settings, useful for gaming footstep detail or music tuning, and one user asked about EQ via Samsung's own equalizer instead. However, the app doesn't work with iOS devices at all, and one user warned that switching configurations without care can make it impossible to return to the true stock tuning, since Moondrop's 'default' preset differs from the original stock graph.
