Hi expert island,\n\n\nThanks for the nice review. I bought this unit a while back. I really hoped that I could love this unit, but right from the start, the mixer was severly heating up at the right upper corner and the same goes for the adapter that it comes with. The adapter even started making weird noises. At this point I decided to not hook it up anymore, because I'm afraid to damage my other gear. I understand that this is a budget mixer, but I didn't expect anything like this. I looked up some reviews on the mixer and I see there are several other people with the same issues. Did the model that you reviewed show any signs of heating up at all? Thanks and best wishes!launch

When I’m recording my drums, I plugged them all into this. I use an old mic technique where I only use three and/or four mics. Same goes with guitars. The fact it doesn’t have a power button is fine. That’s how we’re saving some money. Plug it into power and then turn the power button off. Instant power button. But this is great because I can equalize everything and then run it into the interface. That way, I just have one line going into the interface instead of a bunch. This little unit made my life so much easier. I engineer and produce my own music. The drums are across the room from the console. So I can mix the drums at the drum set with the headphones on. Instead of having to walk across the room to adjust the volume.launch

The only 2 things I wasn't comfortable with was no power button and no high mid range and bass controls on stereo channels. But otherwise, price wise and quality is why I picked this one up. Served me well for years and I'm still using it. I kept the box too, because it makes it very easy to transport when you're playing live, and you don't have to worry about controls getting bumped into things on the way there.launch

I bought this board and I am very happy with it! There seems to be an issue out there with the Phantom button as to being nosey. I never used that button and somebody plugged their Shure mic into it and that mic sounded great!. Great board!launch

Great review, bad mixer.👎 Not satisfied with it at all. 5/10 I was trying to make people sound good on an \"Open Mic\" night in a pub. It does not have a \"Compressor\" function on any channel! 👎⛔ C'mon - that is required for any instrument or a mic. I would expect designers in Mackie to know that. 😬launch

An owner calls it a dealbreaker that the Main Mix level is linked to the Control Room/Phones knob, meaning you can't mute the main outs while quietly monitoring through headphones or monitors.

It's a really nice mixer, I own it, but one thing that is a deal breaker for me, is that the MAIN MIX knob level is tied to the the CR (control room)/PHONES knob ... Meaning that, for example, you can't mute the main outs while quietly listening to the mix with headphones or monitors. I think this feature is available in the, albeit pricier, ProFX series.launch
