Just got these yesterday. So far so good. A few thoughts: the hiss is present but I had to listen very carefully to detect it. If you put your ears close to the speakers, it is audible, but not to a concerning degree. I can live with it. I might have not noticed if I haven't seen many comments about it. Now, some other things. I have read loads of reviews that these monitors are not recommended for mixing due to the overemphasized bass. Well, I have heard some overly hyped \"neutral\" sounding speakers, which had such a shitty sound, lack of bass, etc, that I am sure I would be unable to mix on them properly. If bass is lacking on the reference speakers, you will overcompensate it, thus your mix will be muddy and boomy on any consumer setup, that is my experience. The bass here is present, but to my ears it is far from overblown. There are also quite a few reviews which say, \"the bass might be still not enough, so get the woofer as well\" :-D So bass is said to be overemphasized, but get a subwoofer for more bass... a bit silly, isn't it? The placement of the speakers is crucial however, as tables in the corner, next to the walls etc can amplify the bass frequencies further and this is not always pleasant. All in all these monitors are very decent in my opinion, especially concerning their price. One tiny little thing I have noticed - I am not sure if this is a flaw - that anytime a song is fading out, and the overall volume is reaching a minimum level, the speakers go mute before the actual fade ends. Not a big issue as you can check fade out on headphones, but still a bit strange. What I love the most about these monitors is the soundstage. It is very spacious, and wide, and you can hear every tiny nuance and instrument fairly separately. I am sure this is an advantage when mixing. If there are any hidden flaws, or manufacturing issues, only time will tell, but for now I feel that money was well spent, these are very good sounding, punchy, and meaty little gems, I would recommend them to anyone on a budget but still wanting a decent sounding setup.

Agreed I have added a pair to my home studio and awesome sound is what you hear bass is rich and deep and mid and highs are super clear great value for the price .

As I'm a DJ, I've got speakers WAY bigger than these! However, when I'm putting together little mixes and montages, these are perfect. Because they are so flat and neutral in their sound quality, good and bad tracks can be sorted effortlessly. As an added bonus - when I'm watching something on my computer, or listening to music for pleasure - a quick turn of the volume knob does actually give plenty of bass! Surprisingly good value for money.
