all i gotta know is one thing for owners of this cam. Can I keep a charging cable plugged into it while I drive without the camera overheating?? My hero3 + black could do that ALL day in the summer in direct sunlight on my windshield. My hero 7 shuts off after like 10 mins inside the car.launch

Been following your videos about the One RS and decided to buy one. However, out of the box I've had all sorts of issues trying to connect to the phone. Tried different phones and all the advice on Insta360 support until they told me to return it 😔 Having now looked around on forums it appears that I'm not alone in having problems with connecting the camera. I've returned it for a full refund and now debating to \"try\" again and hope that it was just bad luck that I'd landed one from a bad batch! I've been using the ONE for over a year without any issues until last week. In the middle of my shoot, I started getting the image of the camera and part of the selfie stick in my video. I have contacted Insta360 Support, but as yet they have not remedied the issue. My selfie stick has not changed since Day 1. My settings haven't changed. Even when I reset the camera yesterday, it did no good. Your thoughts? Thankslaunch

I use an insta360 one R and it’s no substitute for an action camera. It does 360 fairly well, however the stitch line is too visible compared to one X. The other problem is it is about as reliable as a GoPro. I have lost a lot of epic footage due to corrupt files. I will never replace my Sony x3000. Insta360 is an instagram and Tik tok specialist. I wouldn’t trust is as a motovlog cam. Sorry, I tried it and it doesn’t compare to my old Sony.launch

Long recordings split into segments with several seconds to over a minute of missing footage at roughly the 30 or 90 minute mark, which some buyers considered a dealbreaker and returned the unit over.

For your information... The Camera will not record longer videos than 30 Minutes. Reaching the time limit, it will stop, and then start a new recording. There will bi 10-15sec gaps between the recordings. I already sent mine back. It makes nice videos but not capable to record gapless is a nogo for me...launch

Here is What i found out to do Long Recordings without overheating\n\n1) Turn Off the LCD Display while Recording \nSet it to Turn off After 1 min \n(Just use the led light to know that its rec, So it use less power)\n\n2) i used usb cable Battery loading to get Long recordings, but it should work with normal Battery too. \n\n3) DONT use Bluetooth (your mobil) it uses More Power and getting hotter\n\n4) i Removed the case so it get cooled by More Air (dont Remove the case Outside it could Fall apart, i found on Amazon a good case for 50€ for outside (Brand Higatful)\n\n5) i didnt try this one but Read somewhere that you can use a Handheld Fan with usb loading (if you got one) to cool down the Camera while Recording (but it will Producer Noise in the Recording) \n\ndont forget this camera is Build as a Action Camera so they should used normaly in Action situations that produce Wind and cool down the Camera. \n\n6) I tryed my test with a SanDisk Extreme 128 GB V30 u3 A2 & 512 gb Extremen Pro v30 A2\nRecorded straight 90 min and more without Problems \n(dont forget it cuts the Video every 29 Minuten with 5-10 Seconds Pause between every Clip)\n\n\n7) This was a inside Test in my room so i Turner Off stabilization in my App. Dont know if its better for the Power/Heat ?! But i dont Need this for my uses.\n\n\nMy Settings:\n6K 25 FPS, LOG Mode, iso 400 & Low Sharpnes (for lowlight)\n\nHope it helps 👍launch

3/22/2022 (Firmware v1.4.57.4) UPDATE - I ran another 1HR overheating test at 110˚ with the One RS. Still didn't overheat! Should I just keep pushing it? lol \n-I've been getting a lot of comments asking if there's still a break in footage that gets recorded at the 30 minute mark like the previous version. The good news is that we don't get any breaks in footage at 30 minutes anymore. But bad news is that it still happens at the 90 minute mark. In my test, the clips get split exactly at 90 minutes, and there was a 7 second gap in footage before the new clip started. So I guess that's a big improvement from the previous version, but if you think you'll be recording 1.5hrs+ clips consecutively, you will have a gap in footage.\nIf you know of any updates, reply to this comment and lemme know!launch

Insta360 does not even provide support for the one rs 1 inch 360 camera. I got the camera 8 months ago and they do not even sell extra batteries anymore. If your battery dies your camera dies. Fact check me. I own 6 of their cameras. If they do not support their product line with batteries, they market on a predatory basis.launch

I use the same camera as well. My battery life is really bad… most of my bike rides are at least a hour long. My 360 lens gives me about 25 minutes tops!\nI do love the camera but I am also looking for more battery life.\nGreat vid though!👍🏻launch

Despite recording at 5.7K/6K, 360 footage still only exports at 1080p, which several long-time users found underwhelming given the price and expectations for higher resolution output.

I guess you still won't be able to export a 4k reframed clip.... this is a higher quality 1080p (Output) camera than the x2 or One R. I am happy with the current IQ for the One R for social media purposes... after all, that's probably all you are going to do with 1080p. In the end, you will still need a brain upgrade to eventually get the 4k export. I feel that is coming later and this is just a way to ease everyone into the cost and give them some space for future upgrades. \r\nIf this was my first Insta360, I would buy this for sure. However as a One R owner, I still can't justify it unless I needed to shoot in low light a lot. It is an awesome 360 camera, just not the upgrade that would convince me to drop what I already have. I do hope a new more powerful core comes soon. That will be the true game changer (Assuming phones have the power under the hood to process the raw 8k images then for a 4k export.)launch

I have GoPro Hero 9 and Insta360 One R. First, I broke the Insta mounting bracket and there is no way to replace it for the original. Second, no matter how high the video resolution it only export to 1080p to the phone. Third, the app start with a lot of ads. It's too frustrating to use that camera. I've stuck with the GoPro Hero 9 for 99% of the videos and only use the Insta for photos since I have the 1\" module. I'm so sorry to say this, but I will never buy another Insta. 😞launch

Larger sensor is great, but 6K 360 means not really more resolution as before (not enough, to integrate it seamless into a 4K production) and it is very expensive. I like the modular concept, but the price is to high in my opinion.\n\nIt schould be placed on the One RS Webpage, not as a separate product. Of course, that would hide the fact that buying the One RS 4K with the upgrade bundle would probably be the better and \"cheaper\" choice.launch

I hope they improved the mic on this RS. Just bought OneR couple of weeks ago and mic is a crap on R model. Just tried it on a track day. Pity Garmin discontinued their camera department and didn't update their Virb360 with their ambient 4 mics. Please cover in greater detail the biggest problem with the Insta core module,\nWhich is either the internal sound chip/USB adapter has limited bandwidth and a terrible frequency response from 12kHz and therefore is useless for even semi pro sound capture.\nYou have to resort to external sound recording and then resyncing which is a pain.launch
