Users appreciate being able to set personal audio alerts when intrusion is detected and like the auto-tracking concept for following moving objects. However, multiple commenters specifically ask or point out that after tracking finishes, the camera stays at the last tracked spot instead of automatically returning to its default preset, requiring manual repositioning, which undermines continuous coverage of the originally intended monitoring area.

Hardware reliability is inconsistent, with some units failing within months despite others praising longevity. One long-time user says EZVIZ cameras last forever and are extremely reliable. In contrast, other users report the unit going to a solid red light after four months, with two of four spotlight LEDs failing, describing it as a hardware malfunction. One of these users also describes a frustrating twelve-day support process with the manufacturer before being redirected back to the seller.

Software, recording gaps, and notification accuracy frustrate several users. The desktop PC viewer software is described as buggy and unreliable. Separately, users report the cloud recording system saves in segments with pauses that can miss activity, and note actual gaps and missing clips in recordings. Notification problems add to this, including alerts triggered by animals rather than just humans, wrong alerts from unmarked motion zones, and message audio that's barely audible.
