Pretty hard to disagree on your assessment here. This (and the mini and mxr classic, basically all the same bc108 fuzzface) is one of the best si fuzzfaces being made, including all the boutiques. New production bc108b transistors are consistent and forgiving and there are only a few parts, so big pedal guys like Dunlap can crank em out. More importantly this thing has a ton of range if you use it like an old dead man would. There is one setting on the fuzz that works best - fuzz all the way up and backed off a smidge until right before the high disappears (420) and then volume up whatever works. If you have normal single coils and aren’t a spaz or have a bunch of BULLSHIT circuitry in your guitar, the volume knob gets you into clean enough to little wring to od-dist then to fuzz waterboarding at full volume. Also responds well to the tone control for more saxy stuff.

I call it \"the turquoise divine\". I dig this fuzz. I happen to prefer silicon faces over Germanium. Afaik Hendrix did too.\nAnd yes, many comments below are true: amp slightly on edge of breakup (even very good SS amps work), fuzz settings on +/- 80 to 90% and work the guitar's volume.

This pedal has been on the market since 2008 or 2009, and so far this is the worst demo of it I've ever heard. \n\nGenerally you just don't run a fuzz face into a clean amp like these guys did. Just don't do it. \n\nYou run them into an amp that has a decent amount of amp overdrive dialed in. With a clean amp, you get a can of bees sound. With even a little amp overdrive, it sounds like your amp is melting. Exactly like how hendrix sounded. Let's face it, most people interested in a hendrix fuzz face wants to sound like hendrix anyway.\n\nThis pedal isn't just okay, it's exceptional when you know how to use it, and how it works.\n\nIf you go watch gearmandude or pro guitar shops old demos of the pedal, that's how it should sound.
