After a few months the mouse pad got sticky, then battery charging started having issues and jiggling the jack worked for awhile, but it got worse and then stopped working completely. Okay, so maybe I don't need a full battery. Then after a year the flimsy plastic around the hinge broke, so I had to open the lid gingerly, but gripping the hinge too firmly, I broke the screen. So no battery and no screen, basically no computer after only a year. This will probably be my last Dell.launch

I very very very very very highly suggest you open your laptop from the middle of the lid/screen. In the first 2 seconds she opened from the corner…. you will run into problems if you do this 500+ timeslaunch

Just gave my laptop to a carry in service center for the same thing. Keys in the last row stopped working. It's super costly here, but I didn't want a risk by going with third party compatible keyboards. Older versions were at least better in this sense.launch

It's embarrassing how throwaway Inspirons are. Basically E waste, keyboard built into the top cover Dell barely sells any parts for them other than the batteries for $160 minimum, and the aftermarket stuff is way more pricey than similarly terrible entry level HP laptops. Even the low end Latitude 3s put these to shame.launch
