Multiple users feel forced into buying an expensive Streaming Bridge or upgrading to Extreme ISO to get functionality they believe the base hardware could support via firmware, calling it a sales tactic rather than a technical limitation.

By the time you buy the bridge, approx. $230, an ATEM MIni Pro ISO $500 (amazon sale), and a low latency capture card $150-200, you might as well save another $420 to buy the Extreme ISO tbh. And the upside you'll have less middlemen devices that create a lot of latency, something you don't need on a professional production. When the Mini Pro Iso first came out you always needed a bridge which was almost $180 less than buying the Extreme ISO. In the end its only a firmware/software wall that Blackmagic doesn't want to fix because its a way to up sale. The Mini Pro ISO spec wise is capable of sending video from the ethernet without streaming. They don't want to fix it because the bridge would die in the market, as it should. If BMD don't create a switcher that sends video out via ethernet without streaming someone will.launch

Basically, if you are using the Mini Pro ISO with OBS to stream, as we have to as we need some opacity in graphics we need to import and overlay when filming motor sport that the atem does not offer, buy the extreme instead. If the additional device was £50 (what it's probably worth), then it's a workaround, but at over £225 it's a nonsense of a solution when comparing the additional functionality of the extreme for the difference in price, plus you have a lot more inputs. Bought a 3 port usb c hub so I could go to two ssd's and the laptop, but the laptop does not then see the atem as a web camera input in OBS.launch

While the expensive Atem Mini Extreme Iso has solved the problem meanwhile with its two USB-C outputs (plus two HDMI outputs you can use as well!) it is interesting to see how you can convert Ethernet to HDMI. \nBut hey: you could have put your Atem HDMI-out to an HDMI Splitter (to monitor and to OBS!) instead of using the Atem Streaming Bridge, right?launch

Sooooo from what I can see.... they're just making us buy a 250$+ item to do something the device is natively capable of... if it can send video out via ethernet to the Bridge it can send it anywhere via ethernet. The only explanation that I can see is that instead of creating a software bridge for free they created a hardware bridge and expect us to buy it.launch

So far, the ATEM Mini is nothing more than a mere, expensive paperweight. I’ve spent many, many hours watching tutorial videos trying to mate my supposed V-logging video camera to the Mini and then the Mini to Windows OBS, then the computer to a wide screen TV. When I bought the Mini, I thought I could display different views of a demonstration to a crowd of people and record the video using OBS to post later to YouTube. I was wrong so far. So an expensive lesson to me.launch

Can anyone tell me, if I use the USB-C for recording to a SSD, can I no longer use the ATEM control software on my computer since it's not connected to it with that USBC and still live stream? (I apologize if this is an obvious answer, I'm still learning here.) He's got the Ethernet connected to the laptop, so is he using the laptop to stream instead of the ATEM?launch

I am very sad I bought an Atem Mini and the HDMI out image does not work anywhere other than my TV. I already connected it to the Blackmagic Ultra Mini Recorder and it doesn't work. I already connected it to my Blackmagic Video Assist 7 4k and there is no picture. And lastly I turned connected this HDMI out on the Bidirectional Converter SDI / HDMI and it also doesn't work. What is this equipment for anyway?launch

You should connect an HDMI to USB capture card such as the Elgato camlink to the \"HDMI OUT\" and compare it to the built in USB output. You will find that the built in USB output crushes shadows/highlights and colors making it very compressed MJPEG output. Any other USB capture card connected to the \"HDMI OUT\" port produces a wayyy better image. I'm returning this until they get YUV2 or NV12 on the USB output as opposed to the terrible looking MJPEG output. You need to see the images side by side to see how bad it is.launch

Great review. Bought two of these and other then not being able to reset the default PIP size I love it. One thing to keep in mind is that the unit will set its output to the same size and frame rate as the first source plugged in. You can however change that using the software. A slightly upgraded model with multiview out would be killer even if it raised the price 200$.launch

Great review. This device has certainly unbeatable value for the money. Basically they killed the Web Presenter and a whole bunch of Roland mixers and a few capture cards. They decided not to totally kill the Atem Television Studio HD by NOT adding a multiview output on this device. Otherwise...P.s. I can confirm that, at the time of this review, the only two switchers in the Atem lineup that can manage the audio delay are the ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K and the ATEM Constellation 8K.launch

One buyer received the unit without a USB-C cable needed to connect to a laptop, and another was told by Blackmagic support that removed media stays mounted, risking data corruption or drive damage.

So talking with Blackmagic support I've found this to be a bit disturbing.\nWhenever the media is removed from the ATEM Mini xxx the drive is still mounted.\nMeaning the data could possibly become corrupt or even damage the drive. I haven't \nused the unit long enough to determine that this could be a problem but I'm sure it would be.\nI've only been in the computer business for 30 years but I do see this as a problem.launch

I bought Atemi mini Pro a few days ago in Kenya, unfortunately I didn't find USB type C 3.1 cable, FOR CONNECTION TO MY LAPTOP, packed in the box . The company should include the connection cables so that users can enjoy the services of the device without going through the headache of looking for connectors in the local shops which more-often than not don't stock them. Why buy it if I can't use it because of lack of connectors ?launch

ISO recordings pair corrupted, program-mixed audio with video, making it very difficult to re-sync individual camera audio tracks after the fact, which one user calls a serious oversight.

ISO is NOT ISO! Please help us as a community. The ISO recordings are only Video ISOs!! The audio is totally corrupted, as all ISO recordings have Program mixed audio tracks. What you have to do is go into the Audio ISO folder to find the, let's say CAM 3 audio. The problem is is that there is no easy way to re-sync the ISO audio with the ISO video clip because as the audio track on the ISO video recording does not have the same waveform to referent to, because it is corrupted as a program audio mix. What's up with that? and can you tell us all how to fix this terrible oversight by Black Magic?launch

The device only accepts HDMI inputs, so USB webcams and PTZ cameras aren't natively supported, which one user says limits practicality mainly to higher-end content creators with dedicated cameras.

Problem is it only uses HDMI inputs, which takes out all webcams or PZT bots which use USB. Currently, there is no HDMI/usb adapter. So while price is unusually good, practical is for the higher end content creator. 4 cameras is easily 6k to 15k. Multicam capture seems like the only option for multiple webcamslaunch
