I'm thinking about getting this synth (I don't have any hardware synths and I've always wanted an analogue mono synth for basses and leads). Do you find the reverb to be mostly useless? For starters, this synth has a single mono output, and we all know reverb wants to be stereo. I'll bet this synths sounds amazing if you run it through a stereo reverb.launch

My 2 cents Behringer Model-15\n\nThis analogue synth features 2 Moog style VCOs, a MOOG ladder filter plus a high pass filter without resonance and a useful modulation matrix for some semi-modular vibes. \nThe LFO can be cranked up into audible range which is great for FM experiments, same applies to the cross modulation when patching two VCOs (or LFO) using the matrix on the right side. Sound wise it certainly delivers if you like that vintage-Moog sound. I am not a big fan of the internal spring reverb though as I find it too dominant in the mids, especially combined with a synth that is equally heavy in that frequency range like the Model-15. Being lazy, I haven't checked wether or not it's a digital replica - at least it doesn't \"ploink\" when moving the synth. So if you have further info on that matter, I'll appreciate your comments.\n\nThe sequencer is easy to use and thus can be a nice source of inspiration. I didn't manage to get the S&H to work as I would have expected from that mod source. It seems that it behaves more like pink noise directly routed to the mod target, without sample and hold it ;). Boog Grandmodel 15. 😛\nLooks like an upgrade though, having more patch points and they're all on one side so you don't have wires all over your controls.\nToo bad it doesn't have the real spring 'verb, but that's understandable to keep the price down. As mentioned in the video Anderton's say expected delivery time is 3 Months or longer, then we notice that Gear4Music are giving a date to be MID NOVEMBER 2024. So what is more likely? That one Uk Behringer dealer get their new stock 3 months earlier than another?\n\nBest expect a pre X-Mas delivery time. The first batch is sure to sell out quick in pre-orders, so expect early 2025 for most of us. The Model 15's sequencer and arp look a handy addition as does the reverb. \nYet another Behringer desktop synth on many folks want list then. Barely one I do not want, it is just a case of getting the best price and their availability, they keep selling out!launch

Yeah, sure, it will be available in three months. Please, I do not believe the vapourware from Behringer, anymore, and I never will. In Canada, they said the Solina String Ensemble would be available in July 2023, when it was advertised three months before. It never was available, I could never buy it. And right now, it is impossible to buy in Canada. So, very cool if we can get it wherever you live, but I will pass on this synth.launch

Some commenters are uncomfortable with Behringer cloning gear still in production or feel the company should invest more in original designs rather than replicate existing synths.

It would be cool if Behringer actually tried to make unique synths rather than just copy what’s already readily available. They did the deepmind which was iterating and expanding on the ideas of the Juno 6 (I believe) but since then it’s just been clones with barely any differences. I just find it all boring.launch

Would love to see Behringer make an original product too. There's totally gaps in the market that they could be filling. I also fear their current business model of plagiarism isn't sustainable; they essentially are making profit off Moog's research and development, if Moog folds because of this, Behringer lose their source of 'inspiration'. Or I guess they then copy someone else. \n\nI guess Moog probably wouldn't fold, but the whole thing just sits weird with me.\n\nNice video btwlaunch

Very nice demo! Does your Model 15 also have the faulty S&H output, as others have reported? I received mine a couple of days ago, and if it wasn't for the defect of the S&H, I'd give it five stars. At least one long-time user directly compared the Model 15 to a real Moog Grandmother and described Behringer's sound as thinner and more 'plastic' in direct A/B comparison, despite a good first impression.

I have Model D, PRO 1, Kobol exp. and I had POLY D... for about 3 years... I have Model D, PRO 1, Kobol exp. and I had POLY D and ... for about 3 years...deepminad 12 ..the latter sounded good for a few days then I bought a plug-in from Softube model 84 and this vst destroyed deepmind ..sharp sizzling dry and flat sound...and again at the beginning the first good impression 2 months ago I bought my first Moog grandma so that I could also have one Moog synthesizer... and I will say this: now I understand why Moog is much more expensive... it's just sounds and looks like a million dollars... Every Behringer next to a Moog sounds like a plastic toy, I don't know how it's possible, because I dig it, but only at home and in direct comparison you can see and hear a huge difference... the same with this model 15, I can already hear that characteristic ticking, the faint sound of the Behringer... that's why I'll be selling my Behringer's successively, even though they play nice in themselves, they're not good compared to other synthesizers... they only make a first impression.2 months ago I bought the first moog grandmother so that I could also have one synth from moog... and I will say this: now I understand why Moog is much more expensive... it just sounds and looks like a million dollars... My biggest problem with behringer are just how far they've cost reduced. Look at any other module you have, even the cheapest etsy offerings, and you'll see they have jacks secured to the faceplates. That's how it should be done. Now look at the behringer stuff. How are the jacks fixed to the face plate? They're not. Each one of those jacks is connected directly to the motherboard. None of the insertion force is distributed anywhere else. It is all falling on the jacks and the circuit board. The brunt of the force is hitting the connections. That creates failure points. By tacking the jacks to the board instead of fixing them to the faceplate, they've transformed the main method of interaction into the main mode of failure.launch
